Wow! I haven't been in here for over a month. I'm not sure why people feel the need to personally attack any of you. Well, yes, I do, but I won't get into that here! Anyways, I wanted to update you all on my progress. I'm the one who has the biggest thyroid, which isn't outwardly visible on my neck, that a 70-year-old endocrinologist has ever seen. So glad he told me! I've worked my way up to between 36 - 40 milligrams of 2% Lugol's, and have noticed some things that have changed--none of which I had previously thought about.
The slight-moderate dark circles under my eyes are gone--no matter how much sleep I DON'T get!
My abdomen is noticeably flatter (has always bulged due to fibroids), even though I have not changed my diet. I will not know if the fibroids or goiter have shrunk until I have ultrasounds.
I am definitely more active, not due to tons more energy, just the fact that I WANT to do more. Last night, my husband told me that this is the happiest he's seen me in a long time. He asked me why!
Now, I've always thought that I am an upbeat person, but even a few friends have told me in the last few weeks that I sound really happy. Seriously, I don't know what they are talking about! I'm still trying to make sense of that. My balance is better. I can walk down some stairs without holding onto the whole wall/railing (little drama there!). I just want my goiter to shrink! All of these others are very unexpected extras.
My brother is taking about 12.5 mg for recurrent prostate cancer. He has had no side effects, but won't know for a month or two is his PSA has gone up. He will be taking much more, but is going slowly.
I'll be back!
