I'm happy and mad at the same time, lol! I have been anemic for 21 years… and never a doctor has suggested copper. None of them have been able to help me.
My current doc said to stop taking copper. But I felt so good while taking it that I went back to it a week after. And she wants me to take iron salts which are not good because they cause free radicals. She said it hasn't been proved. She doesn't like that I'm taking heme iron and doesn't know I'm still taking copper.
She sent me for bloodwork for copper so that I would see by myself I'm not copper deficient. I had been taking copper only for 3 weeks when I went for testing and I'm on the very low end of normal.
It's frustrating because everything I do to improve/fix my health problems comes from me reading on the Internet! Gluten intolerance/oils for hormonal balance and stop the heavy bleeding/copper for anemia/iodine!
Your post really helped a lot! I realized I was overdoing zinc, in attempts to help my immune system. Was doing the opposite without knowing it.
Your suggestion means so much to me, many many thanks to you! I am looking forward to having a normal ferritin level, more energy and better immune system, yeah! It's the best thing in 2014!
