Hello Everyone.....can anyone here please tell me how to get rid of a UTI caused by STREP B group? That's what I have....I've had 3 UTI's in my whole life, and they've all come during perimenopause, NEVER before. I am 56, so in the past 7 yrs. (when perimenopause began) I've had 3 ..... and now, THIS one..caused by a STREP B bacteria! When I first heard the dr. say that's what the lab sent them, I freaked out, I've never had that before...so, he gave me Amoxicillan. Now, to be honest, it's day 6 and well, yes I can see SOME changes...but I don't feel "right", and it feels weird/icky in my bladder and urethra...plus, as strange as this sounds, my urine, feels "thick"...it's not the normal sort of lightweight just "water" feeling coming out, no, this feels "THICK", as if there's like, mucus mixed in..yet, when I look in the toilet, it looks normal,...normal color, no odor, no little particles (which I was having before the Amox.)..nothing. I don't usually get the stinging/burning sensation in the urethra anyway, but what I get is the constant feeling of having to urinate, PLUS this awful heavy feeling in my bladder...like there was a brick in there! UGH!........that's usually how I know...oh, and the feeling that you really have to "go" and very little comes out, I get that too. But, never stinging or burning or blood (or fever).

anyway..........so, for SOME reason, this is a STREP B group bacteria....now I read up on this, as I usually do....I believe knowledge is power...and found out that the bacteria normally lives in the bowels, vagina, rectum, colon, and throats of grown adults, but it's just never "activated" so to speak......so I dont know.

What I've been taking so far is.....Amox...(I know, I'd rather not take ANY antibiotic! But, I got scared), but I've been taking Colloidal Silver (about 2 dropper fulls a day), which in reality, probably isn't enough, I think I'll up that, but how much can you take safely..I prefer Utopia-Silver , but I've had to buy it locally while I waited for the UTOPIA to arrive.......one silver that I've been taking is called WELLNESS and SOVERIGN...now, to be honest, I KNOW they're not as good as UTOPIA,but I did that in the meantime. Plus, I just started taking a few drops of pure oil of oregano in juice once a day (should I take more?)....plus GRAPE FRUIT SEED EXTRACT drops in water.....but, like I said earlier, it's day SIX already and while there are SOME changes, it just seems that if you're taking an antibiotic, there should be MUCH more change by now! I read on another forum, some women were discussing this (not on Curezone) and they said they had this too (STEP B UTI) and had ALSO been given AMOX. and it didn't do much at all! So then, I became really nervous, t hinking, OH NO....if it's not doing anything in thre, what's really happening, is it colonizing even more?!!!!


Sorry about the long post, just needed to vent, but MOSTLY to find out, WHAT TO DO FOR STREP B group UTI......other than all the things I'm already doing...I also feel this strange heavy fullness feeling in my vagina (sorry for being so graphic),but again, I read that apparently this bacteria sort of hangs out in your vagina too...and just usually doesn't "act up".........I asked the pharmacist if AMOX. would clear STREP B out of my whole entire body, bec. I also have this weird lower left side intetinal thing going on...like a sore spot, and I have a feeling that when that acts up (which it did, FIRST, before the UTI), THEN the STREP bacteria passes through that thin sheeth between the colon and the bladder,....and VIOLA! UTI! bUT THIS time, it's from Strep, not E-coli. So, the pharmacist said, yes, it would kill ALL STREP B through out my whole body, which i would think was good....right? But of course, then there's the Antibiotic drawback, and I certainly don't want to find out that this didn't kill it off, and be put on an even STRONGER antibiotic! Holy Cow..I'm not going down that road! NO!

So............please tell me if what I'm alrady doing is good enough to kill it, and what else I can do!
