Detox!
Started taking Lugol's a couple of months ago (50mg) with all companion supps. No problem. Upped it to 100mg. Still no problem. Then I added 1 gm SSKI . Noticed this metallic taste in my mouth, but I can live with that. About a week later it hit me...the worst headache I have ever had in my life. Guess this is bromide detox. I have backed down on the SSKI to 100 mg and will go slowly from there. Do not want a repeat of that headache. I have also realized that I need to get bromated bread out of my life (duh). Just sharing my little experience so far. I am determined to get off my thyroid meds (2.75 grains of desiccated thyroid) that I have been taking for the last 5 years.Advertisement

This is a reply to # 2,205,221yep, the sinuses collect a lot of crap from the air. salt has always taken care of that for me.

If you google it, there's a list of non brominated breads
Entenmans, Pillsbury, Giant and Arnolds (plus others) are on the "safe" list.

I'm only on my third day... and so far developed this
But it just flared for a day and is going away already. Not sure if its bromide or from my dress just being dry cleaned.
Have you had anything similar on just 50mg Lugols?
I can deal with detox, but if I had a warning, it would be easier... instead of getting hit off guard and then being expected to function.

This is a reply to # 2,205,372layers. you detox in layers. it comes in waves. it takes a long time to clean up from a lifetime of contamination. fasting, flushing and cleansing highly recommended.

That makes sense... it goes inside in layers so it's only natural it would come out in layers.
And of course it's not helping when I'm stuffing my face with unknown bread and brushing my teeth with flouride toothpaste.

This is a reply to # 2,205,458Pretty far behind for me. Been a lifelong tea drinker. Kicking that to the curb. One step at the time. Iodine was the first step. Never fasted, never flushed anything but a toilet. Now looking into getting a distiller.

This is a reply to # 2,205,623OT) Been at least 2 years. This model is ideal for 2 people. Even though we have well water, it is still contaminated by nasty farming chemicals that seep into the groundwater system.
You should see the horrible stinking yuck left in the distiller that would have ended up inside of us.
Distilled water is controversial, but for us, there is no controversy at all. We need it for optimal health.
