Hi,
I am seeking for a good TDS tester to check the silver concentration (PPM).
At ebay are a number of devices for prices starting around USD 5.00. At least one of them is quoted to "calibrate with NaCl". Calibration is usually a complex process that is hard to trust, specially for home use.
If you are using a TDS meter, can you share what brand/model it is, if requires calibration, kind of battery is used (button like, AAA, ...) and your overall experience?
I will also appreciate if you can recommend some good (and cheap) model.
Sukhoi
Thanks for one more time share your valuable experience.
That being said, I've discovered that it is not possible to process anything beyond 19ppm without additives with the heat(98-100c) method and where the room temp solutions proved to have an even lower threshold(At or around 17ppm), before pooling and/or plating occurred.
I guess this limit (19 PPM) exists because of your setup that limits the current to a very low value, as the voltage drops with the production progress, it tends to zero volts and the production self-shut down.
I really do not care too much about the silver concentration because it is only one among many variables and the human body seems to tolerate and easily handle large changes in the dosis and the silver is not toxic, but this change when we think in colloidal copper, where a strict dosis control is required due its toxicity if it is intended to be taken. If is for topical use I guess it is safer.
At my next production I will check what is possible to find using a multimeter to correlate with the silver/copper concentration.
