Yes, correct, they are laxative and in my opinion should only be taken for a period of time. However, for example, rhubarb root is very good for relieving inflammation in the liver.

I gave an answer mainly from a
Liver Flush perspective. Which was then open quite rightly to criticism and qualification from the other forums. In particular Chinese Bitters would not be appropriate for people with a bowel or kidney imbalance.
I often feel uncomfortable about answering cross posts in case I tread on someone's toes. Unfortunately, this carries a risk of conflict because some educators have a tendency to offer advice via proxy rather than take ownership of their own perspective.
