Annony, I think you make it the wrong way. You shouldn't prevent sweat, as there is a reason why you sweat, your body is trying to eliminate dangerous toxins/chemicals. Let your body sweat, but act on the bacteria, it's not the sweat that is smelly, but the bacterias in it. I use lemon juice or other natural antibacterial. If you feel uncomfortable, have a soap in your bad, and few time a day, quickly rub a kleenex in the soap to make your underpit fresh, soap is far better than deodorant, unless the deodorant is natural, because it doesn't eliminate bacteria and their odours, it's only hide them. Sweat + deodorant = awful smell sometimes!
