I have been on the
Iodine board for awhile, but I have a herbal question. About 4 years ago I had a complete hysterectomy (ovaries and everything are gone). I had the surgery because at the time I had a lot of fibroid cysts - the largest one was almost 6 pounds). My GYN doctor at the time - put me on 1 mg of Estradiol - I was only 46 at the time of my surgery and he felt that it was too early for me to go through the symptoms of menopause. For a long time already - I have been having trouble with no energy, fatigue, depression, and worst of all - absolutely NO sex drive!!!! Now...some women say they don't have ANY sex drive - I mean - I have NONE!!!!! I started
Iodine about 2 to 3 months ago - my NP doctor said that my
Iodine was very low and my adrenals aren't working hardly at all. She said that once I started taking the iodine - she promised that would be the cure!!! NOT! It has I think helped with the no energy and fatigue - I am going to keep taking it and increasing my dose. Someone on the iodine board suggested that I should start taking Maca - I started out really slow about 2 weeks ago - I am now up to about 1/2 teaspoon a day (I mix it in my morning smoothie). Everything I read on Maca sounds amazing - especially the sex drive part, but at least for right now - nothing! I know that I have to work my way up to at least 1 tablespoon, but I thought maybe someone on this board could help me. I am just getting so discouraged - I just don't know anymore where to turn.
