Different people have different tolerance when it comes to mercury.
Most people I know opt to replace it with composite.
Composits tend to be toxic for dentists who work with them every day, but not as toxic for people who have them, as toxictity is limited to the first minutes while composit is hardening.
Dentist is always there during those first minutes, day after day his whole life, while you as a patient is going to experience it just for a few days. That is why patients are not affaected.
In many countries in Europe, like in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Germany, etc. dentists have totally discontinued using
Amalgam many years ago, and composits are now the main material in those countries.
In Norway and Sweden,
Amalgam was forbidden almost 10 years ago.
There are many different composits on the market, and you should research different brands and go for those that people are happy with.
I don't know much about brands.
