Hi Infar,
As it may be of interest to others, I am posting this again:
Yes, I have noticed my hair thinning some, and slightly receding at the temples. I noticed the first gray hairs when I was around 30, and my hair has very gradually, but steadily, continued to gray. I did not notice any particular acceleration in that process when I started "mega-dosing" [with daily Bowel Tolerance doses of ascorbic acid] at around age 44. Since I am only a few months short of my 65th birthday, I have always assumed this was all just caused from aging. Personally, neither of those "symptoms" particularly concerns me, so I have just ignored them.
I am wondering about your thought that "...most everyone in the mega-C camp tend to have thinning to balding heads and gray hair." Who are you comparing them with [and how are you going about the comparison]? Also, a modus operandi for this cause would somehow have to be linked to ascorbate [intake]. Any ideas [on how to do this]?
Just curious [and I hope this helps],
David
Hi Infa,
You are most welcome.
Just an observation: this world is a mysterious place, and life, like it or not, is really just a gamble, e.g. we make our best guess and monitor [and modify (if need be)] results [hoping for a favorable outcome].
I would not dispute anything you wrote, Infa. Any and/or all of it may be exactly the case, i.e. reality.
I can only comment that my health [at age 65] is excellent, e.g. no sickness [including even a headache]; no doctors [the very occasional dentist excepted]; no drugs whatsoever, including any-and-all painkillers, be they over-the-counter or prescription [the very occasional "novocaine" injection excepted]. All this, after 20 years of ingesting [on average] over 50 grams of ascorbic acid every day.
From my/that perspective, Infa, I would say you are taking a greater risk not ingesting all of the antioxidants you can, vs. the other way around. But, of course, I could be wrong! How can any of us really know for sure? And certainly, if your health protocol is working for you, I would be the last person to suggest a change!
Thanks for sharing, Infa.
Good health to us both,
David
