First, let me say I've been reading over all the
Iodine posts for hours. I am really hoping this can help in my battle with health issues.
How much
Iodine is good for the treatment of asthma? I am a 34 yo female that was diagnosed at 3 with asthma.
I am in the middle of one of the worst inflammatory bouts of asthma I've had in years. No wheezing, mucus or gasping for breath.... just chest tightness and fatigue.
I took a prednisone burst last week with a taper but it didn't get rid of the inflammation. So, Dr. put me on another burst for 5 days at 40 mg a day, with no taper.
I'm on the second day of that and the tightness is somewhat better, but my right lung is still sore and feels inflamed. I'm also taking:
Advair 250/50 2 x a day
Vit C: 6,000-10,000 mg day
Coconut Oil: 3 tablespoon day
Turmeric: 4,000 mg day
Claritin: 1 daily
ACV with baking soda: 2 tablespoon once daily
I also attempted the H202 inhalation method but found it made my lungs feel a little raw, even using just 1%.
I am really interested in the
Iodine for treating my asthma, not just the symptoms but an overall approach. I have White Iodine tincture from Dr. Clark Store that is potassium iodide. Dosage is 1 drop = 3.5mg
I've taken 2 drops in water this morning. Thirty minutes later I took 2000mg Vit C. I just took 200 mcg of Selenium with lunch and plan on doing the Niacin this afternoon and Magnesium at bedtime.
I am now very fidgity and restless (and can't seem to think straight), which I'm sure is due to Prednisone and iodine. Is 7mg of iodine enough for a therapeutic effect on the asthma? I've read daily dosages should be at least 50mg, but does this have to be worked up to? Or do I need a more aggressive approach?
Thanks to all that post what they learn and go through! It is such a help!!
