Today had my two gold crowns out [hooray] as hospital patch testing showed an allergy to gold. I have oral Lichen Planus.

Under one crown was a very small amount of Amalgam which was removed. Under the other [a molar] is a socking great big amalgam. I could curse my previous dentist....Can I sue him???

Am I glad I had the crowns removed.....My dentist, [New mercury free lady dentist] is concerned about this as cleaning the Amalgam out may well damage the nerve, which is OK. Also, because the filling is so large it cant be done under a dam. I am not too phased about this but it might result in having to have a root filling. The down side is the two teeth in front are also root filled, so may result in having to have a special root filled molar at silly expense.
Could always have it removed. End of, but as she says, once its gone it gone..
