IMO, yes painting the throat every other day then apply an oil such as coconut oil or grapeseed oil over the Iodine can help get Iodine into the thyroid.

However the main reason for the goiter is a severe Iodine deficiency in your diet.

I have tried painting my goiter with Iodine but I did not notice any difference/improvement. I take 200mg Iodine daily, have been for about 6 months. Have a long list of benefits I've received from Iodine but my goiter has not shrunk at all. I'm going to give it some more time though....
