is topical Lugol's bad? not all the contents of Lugol's but if i put Lugol's on face the Iodine in it is pro-oxidant. that should cause damage to skin on my face, no?
so how do you avoid oxidant Iodine in lugol's from damaging face skin? or should we just stop putting lugol's on skin? any alternatives?- Re: topical lugol's a bad idea? Ginagirl

This is a reply to # 2,170,536Why on earth do you want to put Lugols on your face?
It can work as a facial if done daily for a few days, it will burn and you will look pretty bad for a couple of weeks. But if you are persistant, new skin will arise. No damage done to the new skin.
Lugols may be used as removing moles and pigment spots, also on the face, it takes up to a month of daily painting, sometimes two.
A better option for the face, is mixing Iodine with a tiny amount of vit C (just enough to clear the iodine)
-this will tighten and rejuvenate the skin, but not burn it.
Painting the skin / spots just now and again, will cause no damage, so the question is what is your aim?

For the vit C / lugols; as I said; just a tiny pinch of vit C (ascorbic acid), enough to make the solution clear / colorless.
You may have a little water in it if it is too strong. Like half water / half lugols, then the pinch of vit C.

This is a reply to # 2,170,604Thank you I will not use ammonia Iodine on my face. I re searched Lugols Acne and a lot of people use it on their face. I.don't know how they use it they don't say how they did. May be they use it like gina says ie with vitamin c to make Lugols clear? I just don't trust Iodine as it is an oxidant which is supposed to be bad for you.
