Hi ladies!
I have read so many of your posts on here and thought it was time to share my personal story.
I had my mirena inserted in May of 2012. My daughter was almost 1 and we weren't sure if we wanted to have any more. It was great for the first year or so and then everything kind of fell apart.
I am a healthy active 29 year old but all of a sudden I was getting sick ALL the time. I couldnt remember the last time I had the stomach flu but within one year I had it twice for several days each. Colds all the time. I couldnt figure out why I was sick so much. Then I started having this random fluid draining out of my nose. After several drs trips and
Antibiotics with no help, I saw a specialist who believed it could be a spontaneous spinal fluid leak. I had an extremely painful lumbar puncture which came back negative. Then I had more tests done to find out I had a chronic flu virus...WHY WASNT I HEALING??? was all I kept asking myself. Not only that but I was tired all the time, anxiety about EVERYTHING, no energy, brain fog, memory problems, etc, etc.
I started researching Mirena. Thats when I knew it had to come out. I called and had it removed January of 2014. It was great and I felt better until about a week after it was removed. Then it got wayyy worse. I cried about everything, didnt want to leave the house I was so anxious, numbness in my legs, Memory problems ( I would just forget whole bits of my day), tiredness like i had never known, large ovarian cysts, I developed TMJ from clenching my jaws, but the worst thing is this left side pain up into my left rib cage and back. I thought maybe Kidney but doctor did ultrasound and bloodwork all was normal. No one can figure out what it is. Its miserable.
Anyway, thats a really long story so thanks for reading.
Everything is slowly getting better almost 4 months post removal but this dang side pain isnt going anywhere.
If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear. Thanks ladies!!
