Hi,
I'm currently following the candida diet after being diagnosed with intestinal candida. I went months following a diet high in veggies, fruit, meats, fish, and yogurts (little junk food but i still indulged) and I found myself constantly constipated, with lots of uncomfortable gas/bloating and abdominal discomfort that gradually got worse and worse. I went to a Dr, where I was diagnosed via breath test with lactose intolerance and SIBO. I took Rifaximin and improved. Then i started eating more and including grains, more junk food, etc (indulging in Thanksgiving, etc) I had unknowingly been consuming too few calories and working out too hard previously and lost way too much weight on an alread skinny frame. Unfortunately about 3-4 weeks after finishing the rifaximin i started to get diarrhea and abdominal pain after eating (upper middle), mainly occurring at night. I had diarrhea for almost 2 weeks straight. Went to a natural doctor, who diagnosed Candida (confirmed by stool test). He put me on a strict candida diet (no dairy, no grains, no sugar, etc while incorporating more coconut oil, avocado, etc). This stopped the diarrhea and abdominal pain for the most part, though it still occurs every once in awhile. I also am taking flucanozole, oregano oil (10 days on/10 off), and alternating with Pau d' arco, garlic oil, and grapefruit seed extract supplements. I also take ACV in the morning, probiotics 2x day and some aloe vera juice. For digestive issues (I do not digest properly), HCL and digestive enzymes. However, I continue to have issues regarding gas, constipation, bloating- the same as always. I have started adding in flax seeds and magnesium to help "go" but I'm just concerned that this diet is not working, as my symptoms are back to what they were before. Has anyone else experienced this on the diet? I want to get rid of the candida, but I am already way too skinny and losing more weight on the diet and that worries me.
