What could I replace fluoride products with now that I need to keep my mouth extra clean because of heavy duty orthodontic treatment? Something antibacterial?
I'm aware of oil pulling, floss and non-fluoride toothpastes.
I found the answer myself and will post it here for everybody's benefit who might be interested in the subject. Tea tree oil and silver water are known to kill bacteria. Of course it would be beneficial to kill the bacteria from your toothbrush, too, by using the above mentioned products. The most effective thing for your toothbrush would be to dip it in boiling or near boiling water. :)
You can get toothpastes with less flouride content or no flouride content. Explore your search online or other means, read the back side ingredients list, and find one. Else go for natural tooth pastes made with clove oil, peppermint etc.
