I am getting close to my target dose, 100 mg of
Iodine or more. I am at 60 mg and raising with 4 mg a day and skipping regular pulse dosing has proved to be a good idea. I felt worse when pulse dosing.
I have had diarrhea a couple of times but it helped when I divided my
Iodine into three different portions. I take them in the morning, at noon and at 2 pm.
My main symptom has been exhaustion. It has not been cured yet. I have heard that you need to be on the therapeutic dose for 3-6 mo or even more, depending on subsequent test results and on how you feel. My doctor thought I need to be on
Iodine for the rest of my life, though.
Of course this is a hard question to answer, but how long would you guess it will take before I will feel the full benefits of iodine?
My doctor also said that she could have put me on T3 hormone therapy right away, but could not, because the lack of iodine has to be taken care of first. It could be of course, that only after I get T3, will my exhaustion lessen.
And it could also be that the present exhaustion has some detox element in it, too.
So far the positive effects I have had since starting iodine on Nov 19th are
- feeling warmer physically (I was able to give up Thyroxine, the T4 medication)
- having a pleasant emotional feeling.
