It is summer of 2009, I am 39 years old, a special education teacher with a PhD, single mom, exercised almost every day, ate healthy, and had a great group of girlfriends. It was July 2009, that my legs and feet went numb, my muscles began to noticeably twitch making me self-conscious, my head was so foggy I would get lost in once familiar buildings, I couldn't follow conversations and spent all weekend working because my once efficient and organized brain was now all over the place. My hormones went crazy and I stopped getting my period. I gained stubborn weight in my middle that I couldn't get rid of no matter how much I exercised and dieted. My cerebellum had shrunk according to an MRI, my bones were deteriorating (DXA scan), my legs were numb and sore (walking was difficult), my balance and flexibility was non-existent. I sought out doctors, endocrinologists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, neuropsychologists, homeopathic doctors, massage therapists, zero balancing, Brain Based therapist, herbalists, and other specialists. I spent $8,000 at Learning RX because my once high intellect had declined to where a cognitive battery completed at the University of Virginia said I shouldn't even be driving because of my low processing speed. I also REALLY began to understand what it was like to be a special education student and it was very frustrating. Almost four years go by ($20,000 gone) of me being misdiagnosed before I discover it was mercury poisoning all along. I had been tested for metals previously but learned they don't always show up in blood, urine, or hair analysis because mercury gets deep in your cells and goes undetected.
September 2012, I had my
Amalgam fillings taken out and followed the biological dentists protocol to remove mercury after the fillings were removed. Six months go by and I notice no changes in how I felt and the $400 I was spending a month on supplements was annoying. Towards the end of February 2013, I was frustrated that I was not getting better and sought out a homeopathic doctor with experience dealing with heavy metals. I found one and she said I was SO toxic that the biological dentists supplements would NEVER work because my cells were so inflamed with toxins. It was no wonder I was foggy in the head, sore, twitchy, fatigued and for all my healthy eating I was basically putting nutrition on top of garbage.
She also explained to me the toxins were the reason I couldn't lose weight in my middle. I am 5'6: tall and weigh 128
pounds which you would think is normal but I had 38% body fat. The test was completed once at a local gym in a Bodpod (very accurate to my dismay) and then again at the University of Virginia's Exercise and Physiology Lab in a Bodpod again. Basically obese! The homeopathic doctor told me to stop taking all the supplements and begin a nutritional cleansing program she recommended and see her in 30 days. She explained the toxins were why even thin people can have dangerous levels of visceral fat because the fat is protecting your organs.
After 30 days of following the nutritional cleansing program, I went back to see the doctor, I'd lost a few
pounds but 3 1/2
inches off my waist!! My waist is where I had been holding me weight for along time and I was very excited!! Plus went down to a more normal 28% body fat. She said my cells were cleaner and ready for the mercury chelators. In only 30 days, I had feeling back in my feet, my legs were no longer sore, I could drive at night, I wasn't nearly as foggy and I have kept the weight and
inches off. Plus felt really good and energized. She then gave me the mercury chelators; Chelex, Lymph 2 drainage, Cilantro, and DMSA.
My boyfriend did the nutritional cleansing program with me to support me. He lost 44
pounds in two months. He tells me he feels 20 years younger! Losing weight is not what nutritional cleansing is for but it is a side effect if you are toxic and holding on to visceral fat.
Another very interesting thing has happened. I had not had a period for years and told by many doctors it was early menopause (I was 37 when I stopped having a period). I took bioidentical hormones and I was tired, groggy, moody, and gained weight but kept taking them because I was told if I didn't I would continue to lose bone density. However, after about three months of nutritional cleansing I started to get my period. Now it comes every month around the 20th.
I am really excited about sharing my knowledge with others in hopes that I can change someone else's life. I wouldn't want anyone to waste $20,000 and many hours trying to figure out what is wrong with them.
