Hi
First things first. I've been doing a strict candida diet for nearly two years and see a nutritionist. I've not got very far and that's frustrating. I probably also have leaky gut, and/or parasites. I suspect that living with parents who smoked all my life, giving me chest infections and
Antibiotics every year led to this.
So now I'm in my thirties and am against
Antibiotics for stripping away the good bacteria. I spend so much money on supplements (high strength probiotics, good quality coconut oil, sf722, vits and minerals etc) and I've put a lot of time and effort into improving my health.
A couple of weeks ago I was diagnosed with a uti and was told that there is staph in my urine. The worst symptom is aching lower back and sides but no fever. I don't feel ill. But every few days my ankles swell up. I'm not over weight and am active. I also have an occasional sore throat.
I was given a 3 day course of
Antibiotics (nitrofurantoin). At the start of the third day I was no better so I saw the dr and was told to abort nitrofurantoin and start on a five day course of trimethoprim instead. I thought there was an improvement after two days on that but yesterday, the third day, the symptoms were worse.
I was on a night shift last night so drank in total 9 cups of uva ursi tea throughout the day and night. The back ache is better but still there.
I also have
Colloidal Silver and originally took it with the nitrofurantoin. I thought perhaps I was wrong about that and that could have been the reason it didn't work. But with the Trimethoprim I've used no CS.
I bought S Boullardii and have been taking 3 or 4 per day to combat the nasty antibiotics effects and I take 150billion cfu probiotics per day.
Today my bottle of monolaurin arrived. I read this treats staph infections. I also have oregano oil tablets and parsley tea to try. As well as trying the cs on its own.
I'm concerned that I'm going to need a third set of antibiotics. But I don't know what they'd put me on as the lab tested the two I've tried on my sample and both apparently cured it.
I'm confused as to why neither has worked. I haven't had antibiotics in 9 years.I still have today and tomorrow to go but surely I'd be feeling a bit better now?
I finish them Sunday night. Should I go to the dr Monday morning to get more antibiotics or do I try one of my other options mentioned?
I'm scared of getting a kidney infection. I dont want to get worse over Christmas. ITs making me depressed and anxious. Please help!
