60% of patients taking antacid medication, Proton Pump Inhibitors (Prilosec, Prevacid, Aciphex, Protonix, and Nexium) had fungal candida overgrowth. Also present, was overgrowth of antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria. Both findings point to the lasting effects of antibiotics in the body, and the risk of antacid medications. Longer use of antacid meds were associated with increased risks.

Recurrence of bacterial overgrowth as measured by the Glucose Breath Test has been shown to be high after antibiotic treatment -http://academic.research.microsoft.com/Publication/33748777.
Although not measured in this study, I would expect fungal overgrowth to be much higher after antibiotic use, as well. Antibiotics are the original cause of SIBO and further use doesn't appear to beneficial and most likely will increase risk of harm.
This study shows that over 70% of patients with gas, bloating, and abdominal discomfort had fungal overgrowth -http://www.eventscribe.com/2012/acg/ajaxcalls/postersinfo.asp?title=6423
