It looks like morgellons.

Hello all! Today was my fourth day of the protocol suggested by ICU (thanks again!) and seems as good a time to report back as any, though I'll preface the events with a bit of back-story that I've managed to piece together.

As mentioned before, the alien looking creatures in my face first were noticed about a month after an appointment with a dermatologist, who prescribed Minocycline for some cystic Acne on my back as well as, as i suspect now, a Red Herring for this story of awaiting horrors.
The primary reason for the visit to the Derm was a rash just below my kneecaps that itched like BLAZES and didn't improve on its own... His diagnosis was poison oak, and to my queries about inflamed spots sprinkled here and there in the vicinity of the primary problem areas he added "systemic" to the diagnosis. As he explained, I wasn't to worry if the inflammation popped up here and there on my body, as my immune system was going berzerk and attacking things arbitrarily.
The topical steroid he prescribed was AWESOME! it was the only thing that relieved the discomfort and allowed me to do anything but writhe in itching pain through the evening and night. After a while i didn't really notice the rash, stopped using the cream.
My assumption now is that the relief the cream provided was one of the worst possible things that could have happened, as it allowed the critters to travel mostly unnoticed or ignored.

Phew!

The arrival of larva on my face mentioned in my first post can serve as segue between doctors visits in which i attempt in vain to convince myself, my girlfriend, and my family that I am not insane. the frequency with which I'd leap to my feet mid-conversation and barrel to the nearest mirror while cursing didn't help any of us. The affected area ultimately looked bad enough to head to the doctor. This time my GP instead of the Derm.

Armed with pictures at varying degrees of magnification and the knowledge that something was wrong and i was completely sane (or at least not deluded in regards to my complaint) I made my case to the doc. Something along the lines of broaching the subject of the stuff moving, and of it being totally abnormal in terms of the Acne i've had. following the requisite meth questions she diagnosed me with impetigo, went through some pictures with me saying "skin plug" "squamous somethingORother" etc, and sent on my way with topical erythromycin.
To her credit, the erythromycin cleared up the impetigo. it also placed my family firmly in the "he's nuts-nod, smile, don't engage" camp in regards to my misgivings about being cured. Unshaken, I bravely continued fishing through the toilet after bowel movements and found several worms in doing so.

Thus began the PROTOCOL!

the first two days were uneventful though i felt a bit nauseous. several loose BMs both days, lots of gurgling from the gut, but without pain.
On the second day I awoke with an extremely distended stomach and no appetite at all, so decided fast, save for coconut oil with the valbazen.
That night was brutal. Absolutely terrible. Hordes of worms writhing about in my face. Slept not a wink, scoured house for antihistamines and ended up sticking it out and documenting it.

Third day :( worse. Worms throughout the day throughout my face. worms in my tear duct, worms in my forehead. Sheer panic. Once night fell things got worse. The inflamed writhing spread down my neck onto my chest and shoulders. just utterly demoralizing.

Today (day 4): Today I left messages with UCSF and Stanford, as they have Infectious Disease specialists in their employ. I also called my GP and was given an appointment in the afternoon. just before the appointment i recorded an especially frightening incident in which a mass of worms popped out of the same spot on my nostril, then all headed straight up toward my left tear duct. I tried steering them away by tapping on and ahead of them. didn't work, some continued up past my brow and some disappeared by my eye socket. Soon thereafter i felt worms behind my eye.
While waiting to be seen at the doctor's office a small white worm partially emerged from my left thumb, and I was filming it as she came and got me. my hand was shaking pretty violently when i showed her the worm in my thumb, and i explained that i was terrified. showed her some vid clips. this time there was no question about my grasp on reality, which was good i guess.
the literature she had actually contraindicated ivermectin as ineffective (a book compiled by someone from stanford) and called for albendazole or mebendazole. didn't argue with the doc, nor push the issue of vet meds past her initial look of horror.

Man this is a long post, sorry. I'll be brief from here on out.
i asked her for hydroxyzine and a laxative, and she prescribed the mebendazole at one dose of 400mg for three days as per whatever she was referencing. she didn't know how to go about ordering labs for this issue so is working on referring me to specialists at one of the two aforementioned Universities.
At the pharm i was told the scr1pt called for an Azole that had been discontinued. didn't want it anyway, will continue with PROTOCOL! the hydroxyzine is a lifesaver... Tomorrow i'm calling and emailing everyone i can about being seen, and insurance be damned. what an effed up day. and i still have tonight to enjoy :))
