btw universal healthcare is not socialism! If not for the universal healthcare here in Australia I would be dead. I have had literally hundreds of thousands of dollars of free healthcare including one major surgery.

The Australian government spends less on health than does the U.S. government, and yet, here, nobody is turned away. People have the option of paying for private healthcare or accessing the public health system. This is not socialism! It is freedom of choice.

I think it very odd the way some Americans think that saving lives is a bad thing! We here in Australia are not socialists; our political system is a capitalist system that exists to assist all people (though that idea is being eroded by the greed of the the current government.) People here can be as wealthy as they want and live any way they want. It is a capitalist system with a welfare safety net. We do not want to have people dying in the streets.

I doubt there will be restrictions on delivery of parcels to private individuals. The internet has created a multi-billion dollar market in goods being delivered to private individuals. The postal services need the business; they are dying off because few people send letters, these days.

I do understand your sentiments and I, too, view with dismay the ever-tightening grip on our freedoms and rights. But universal healthcare (and education)are not socialism - they are basic human rights. The alternative is what you have, unfortunately, in the U.S.: people dying because they cannot afford to pay for essential medical care.

And yes, medical doctors often get things wrong. But sometimes they get things right, too. I'm not defending the medical establishment, I'm simply saying that everything in this world, done rightly and well, has its place.

I was told that Obamacare had taken over October first of this year--2013. Can you clarify?
