Down in the Keys iguana run through neighborhoods and will even sit right in the middle of the street! Feral iguanas are growing in number throughout southern FL. I'm guilty of turning one loose years ago... He outgrew his cage and I lived on the boundary to an old zoo. There were already Amazonian crocodile, anaconda, and monkeys that had been set free on the same property.
Along with iguana, turtles and bearded dragons are also carriers of salmonella bacteria.
