I'm not going to answer your question directly but I will give you come of my personal experience with UT.
What I found after practicing UT off and on for several years and drinking at least a cup or more a day is that the taste smoothed out considerably after a few weeks of drinking it. Yet when I ate or drank things that "normal" people do such as sweets of alcohol, it changed the taste considerably. So what I did was that if I ate something that caused a disruptive taste I would either stop eating it or just eat it once in a while. Certain vegetable flavorings are sure to come through but I always found them to be healthy. All types of alcohol disrupted the taste of my urine though sometimes not until the next day because I generally drink in the evening. But it sure gives me an indication of what I shouldn't eat or touch.
Another thing that disrupted my UT was the artificial sweeteners in carbonated beverages. We all now know that they are deadly.
I'd simply follow your own path in eating while doing UT.
