I have been going crazy for over a month now with an itchy scalp. It started with a small scab on my scalp. I thought of several causes. I recently had oral surgery (two teeth extracted), and had too take a long run of Antibiotics . I thought maybe it was a reaction to the medication. the itch got worse and seemed to be moving. I tried lice shampoo and although I had been picking tiny scabs off my scalp there were no bugs. The scabs and small bumps seemed to be forming in a line, from the front of my hairline to the back of my scull,and now I was picking little hard grey (marbelized) eggs off my scalp . I used vinegar and olive oil treatments every day and my nerves were on end, only ti chi was helping my sanity.
Around the same time my bed was changed out in the room I am renting and I thought it was bed bugs, but after research I found they don't attack the scalp.
I am a hair stylist and tri-cologist. I had a new client, that was unable to wash her hair and after I washed her and started to cut saw she had white crusting on her scalp. I finished her service and told her next time she needed a scalp treatment. Her hair was also very fine and broken.
I kept researching on line, and read that sulfur ointment kills louse. I tried that last night with a plastick shower cap and this morning I picked something off my head at the base of my scull that was still moving. I shot a video this morning with my Cell Phone and have enclosed a still shot.
To wrap this up I am glad to know I am not going crazy or have scalp shingles that could last for years. I do have some fine broken hairs visible on my front hair line, and right now have head covered with asulfur and a shower cap. Please help me ID this creature so I can get rid of it for good and get on with my life.
