Since the beginning of July I have been testing keeping the mouth super clean. I was kind of slacking the first couple weeks, but the last two weeks I have really amped it up. I use peroxide as a mouth rinse at least 2 times a day (mix it with a little water as it is directed, sometimes I just only use peroxide). And I have been brushing at least twice per day, sometimes 3 times, I am really trying to get to three times a day to see what happens.
I have actually been working two jobs so I haven't been in the sun nearly as much the past month and my buildup actually slowly started to increase just on the white line area where the lips touch, and it actually looked like the area might have been growing larger.
However over the last week the area has shrunk again and the white line build up has gotten under much more control. I also put the peroxide on my lips as well to see if it bubbles up, which it does if there is any dead skin on there.
I had always thought that I had gotten this from the dentist and causing trauma by flossing, HOWEVER during my dentist visit back then I had also had the beginning stages of periodontal disease, which I have mentioned before but haven't really paid much attention on it until recently. I had remembered back when I first started leaving them alone, I literally quit brushing my teeth for a period of time because I was scared to cause any trauma to my lips...and that's when I left them dry as well, and when my buildup spread the most and the quickest.
So what I am doing is using peroxide for about 30 seconds with and without water depending on what I feel like doing. Then brushing the bottom teeth, rising, then the top teeth, then between the lips and the teeth and up and down as far and anywhere I can reach, then the tongue and under the tongue and in between my cheeks. EVERYWHERE possible in my mouth. And my results have been incredible so far over the past couple weeks since using the rinse. I also use floss picks as well.
I wanted to wait on my report to make sure my results got consistently better, and they have. I am going to try to go in the sun as much as I can in combination and this week I decided to use the steroid cream twice per day for 1 - 2 weeks to see what that does for me.
