I am 42 yrs old and have been living with the same symptoms as everyone else since I hit puberty. I here everything from septic, wet dog, burnt rubber, vomit, skunk and BO. I know its not in my head. Like everyone else you become aware of peoples reactions, whether its in a store, office or on the street. Its a horrible disease to live with. My question is this, apparently this problem affects more people than we think, and the medical field is aware of it due to the diagnosis of TMAU. I personally think half of us don't have TMAU but another form of metabolic disorder. But one would think that the medical field would be interested in some kind of research, even if it is just discussion on a site like this. There can be a cure I know. I have a daughter who is 9. She is diagnosed with a disorder, name to long to remember. Her body does not have the enzyme to digest
Sugar or carbs. I pray she does not have what we have. Im a 42 yr old man and I cry just thinking about her living with this curse from hell. They have developed an enzyme for her to take and it will help her digest with no symptoms. It cost $500 per bottle but gladly pay for it so she can eat. My point is if they can develop that, one would think they can develop something for us. If they only would take notice and recognize this as an actual condition rather than psychological issue. I have emailed some universities invited them to the site. Lets hope someone takes notice or interest in our problem.
