I did the ALCAT food sensitivity test many years ago and in hindsight, thought it produced far too many false positives. I was told there is a newer (and arguably better) way to test for food sensitivities, i.e. the LEAP MRT Test.
I quote this from a forum:
'Where the ALCAT is limited to looking for antibodies which may or may not be present at the moment of the blood draw, the MRT instead looks for the release of mediators (like histimine) which cause an inflammatory response regardless of antibody creation or not.'
I have not tried the MRT test yet (don't really intending to do so)so I cannot judge it. Moreover, it is not available in my country.
As far as testing for food sensitivities go, I think if sensitivity to numerous foods show up, it merely shows there is something wrong with your digestion, but does not tell you what's causing the problem (candida, parasites, etc). In my view, you would be better off using the money for other tests.
