Last night I rubbed a bit of SSKI into a detox boil on my eyebrow. I often use 3% H2O2 on my face right before going to bed, and did so last night -- about an hour after applying the SSKI. As many of you already know, the area around my eyebrow instantly turned "iodine yellow" when the peroxide reacted with the SSKI.
I'd heard of using vitamin C on iodine stains on counters, floors, fabrics, etc., but not on skin. Not wanting to go to work in the morning looking like I'd been in a fist fight, I decided to try rubbing vitamin C on it. I wetted a one gram tablet of Ester C and rubbed over the stained area with it. It worked perfectly!
This morning I was placing an order with http://soapgoods.com for some sodium percarbonate (the stuff that's in powdered "oxy" cleaners and bleaches -- basically a dry form of hydrogen peroxide) and I noticed they had bulk ascorbic acid powder for sale. I ordered a half pound to keep on hand for cleaning emergencies.
