MoreHi I'm from Brazil and I have adrenal fatigue. I'm a man, I don't know what kind of licorice root I should take. Can someone please help me? I read that it can't be the DGL licorice. What is the best kind of licorice to take? What form, pills, powder, tea? Does it really decrease testosterone? Because my main problem with adrenal fatigue is lack of libido, morning erection, Erectyle Dysfunction (ED) and I see many guys fixing all of it and also returning their energy back.

This is a reply to # 2,046,227Any brand is fine just so long as it is an extract and not the plain root. The exracts are usually dark brown/black in color. For some reason the plain root can cause blood Sugar problems with people.

This is a reply to # 2,046,227In my case (severe AFS) the capsules of licorice root powder was too strong. I took like 2 grams of root power capsules... got 'wired' and could not sleep. Took 500mg and also a bit strong.
Best method: Get regular (non-deglycerized) Licorice Tea in a teabag, add it to 175 ml of boiling water
After it cools, add it to a small water bottle and sip it slowly throughout the day as needed. Just a large sip will give me a boost for a couple hours. It is delicious and naturally much sweeter than sugar. And sipping the tea is not to harsh on the system... has never caused me a crash or problem.

Other brands I tried work OK also.
Don't drink licorice every day or you might get 'addicted'. Best practice, take it as needed... or 5 days a week drink licorice, 2 days take a break from licorice.
p.s. If libido is your main concern, consider pregnenolone, DHEA & NADH. Taking 6000 i.u. of Vitamin D3 caused my morning erection to come back.

This guy fixed all his libido problems taking licorice root so I want to know if I can fix it just taking licorice also I know some guys who fixed their problems just with HC or just with prednisone etc.

As for pregnenolone and DHEA I know that DHEA can increase estradiol and thats bad and also decrease cortisol. NDAH never heard before. Vitamin D I will start taking it. I was taking 2000iu everyday and didn't notice any difference.
The problem is that I live in Brazil. If I find here chinese or american licorice root extract wich one should I use? I heard also that licorice can heal the adrenal and some people can live well without taking it. Licorice is strong stuff. Using it too often, or too strong, can make AFS worse and cause crashes.
That's why I like tea. You can take EXACTLY as much as you need at the moment.
I 'think' Chinese and American licorice both contain the active compounds.
Just get licorice that does not say 'deglyzericed' and you'll be OK.
I personally never noticed any libido enhancement. It just increases me stamina and mood for regular actives.

But did you have any libido problem? Because I see many men restoring their erectyle function and libido treating just their adrenal fatigue. Is the capsule version of licorice root has the same effect of the tea? I will paste here some information.

i had ED with high-normal IGF-1 and Testosterone....the cure for my ED was prednisone treatment due to low cortisol...
I can tell you from personal experience that once i started treating my
adrenal fatigue with Cortef my sex drive started to come back, muscle
strength and size and energy levels also much better fat loss without trying.
I have my free T and total T levels before treating adrenals and im
getting them tested now during treatment im sure they will be much
higher.
Is it possible to lose libido with low Cortisol? I got a Cortisol Stim
test where they inject you with cortisol and they take a few blood
readings and when they gave me the cort, I had a noticable libido jump a

(also seemed to reduce stress back then too as it gave the right amount of cortisol.)
