I called Thorne last week to ask when sf722 would be available and I was told that it would be available sometime in April, so I imagine that Candida Force will be available at the same time. However, I guess that before they were saying that it would be available in March and now they say April, so I am not holding my breath.

I was very thankful that I was able to find 4 bottles for sale on Craigslist, but not in my area, but the seller was willing to mail it to me because I offered to pay full price (she was offering it at a low price) and I paid by PayPal.

We're told the first week of April, with a slight possibility of sooner by a few days.

The product goes through 3 phases of testing. It is tested by the raw material supplier who then encapsulates it. Then it is released to the manufacturer and tested twice more, once for chemicals/heavy metals and once for microbes.

The first issue that occurred was that the raw material needed to be tested for quality. That took a while and occurred sometime in Nov/Dec. Once that was established, it was tested and released to the manufacturer, where it failed on the chemical/heavy metal testing during the first week of January due to pesticide residue in the extra virgin olive oil.

A new supplier for olive oil was found and the process started over again. In February, it failed again and the process started over. It is now being encapsulated and the 2nd round of testing should begin next week. That takes 10-14 days to get results. At this point, it is bottled. It will then go to microbial testing, which is generally never an issue due to the presence of undecenoic acid in the gelcap. That testing takes approximately 7 days. Once it passes the 3rd round of testing, it is shipped to us.

The lab that does the testing for us is certified by the Australian Therapeutic Good Administration, which has very high standards, which is why the product fails. If it were being produced by a laboratory with the typical U.S. cGMP certification, it would have passed the first time. When it comes to manufacturing supplements, some countries consider the U.S. as the wild west due to its lower standards.

One change is that the product will now come in a beef gelatin gelcap. Yes, a lot of people have been inconvenienced by all of this. We have experienced this with our probiotic Flora Prime a few times over the years. It can be expected when higher standards are applied. It has never taken this long to correct such issues in the past and I hope it never does again.
