The fear of fructose has gotten so extreme that many practitioners are recommending to people not to consume fruits. Our primary source of energy is carbohydrates. Our best source of carbohydrates are fruits. Fruits are superior to vegetables due to their low ability to breed endotoxin and their higher mineral content in the skin of the fruit. Fruits also contain fructose which is awesome for regulating blood
Sugar both up and down. We need a diet high rich in fructose order to have optimal health. I think that Ray Peat is right for suggesting that we grew up consuming large amounts of fruits and that is what supported the development of our big brains.. People have all these fantasy theories that we evolved to eat this or that but we don't really know for sure what we ate. It makes the most sense that we consume tons of fruits because of the many benefits of them. I'm not recommending for people to eat huge amounts of fruits and not consume adequate amounts of protein and fat. It's all about balance you need to be eating the right micro nutrient ratios for your metabolism. What I'm trying to say is that we need to be consuming more fruits in general. Even sugars like honey and fructose should be consumed in our diet. Fruits are superior to honey due to their much higher concentration of vitamins and minerals but both sucrose and honey have their place. If you combine honey in your meals with protein and a vegetable you could have a much greater shift in your metabolic rate. This is because fructose is so great in increasing your metabolism. Eating a whole barrel of honey is probably going to give you a stomach ache and maybe diarrhea. It's about eating honey or sucrose in the right micro nutrient ratios. Eating four apples in one day would also probably make you sick. I'm not into eating gigantic amounts of fruits. I'm into the craze of eating foods with the right ratios of proteins and fats. We have people that say you shouldn't be consuming honey organic
Sugar cane but fruits are okay because fruit's are nature's candy. This makes no sense because fruits actually have quite a high amount of fructose. They keep saying that fruits don't contain enough fructose to cause health problems but the reality is they do contain quite a bit of fructose. I just feel that everyone is repeating what other people are saying with fructose, and don't really understand physiology. If you understood physiology then you would understand that fructose is a very important nutrient for overall health. I know that people will come to me and say that they eat a diet of vegetables and no fruits and I feel great. I think this is good because you need to do what works for you but I'm just trying to express my personal opinions here.
I feel personally that people should be eating more fruits in their diet. I'm not personally a fan of veganism but I do think that more fruits in your diet with protein and fat is going to lead you to better levels of health. Everyone says that there's 3 tablespoons of
Sugar in soft drinks. Last time I checked soft drinks all I could see in it was high fructose corn syrup. I know that other countries do use sucrose in their soft drinks and they still have problems of diseases and obesity. I think these problems are caused by other issues such as polyunsaturated fatty acids and poor food frequency, ratios and timing of meals. We always like to narrow things down and say it must be this certain thing that's the culprit of are health problems. The truth is there are many different things which cause peoples health problems and it's very hard to isolate what exactly are the causes of poor health in our culture. I know that there are some people that are going to come to me and say that they have an allergy to fructose. I think this allergy does exist but if you do have problems with fructose you need to find ways to slowly introduce it back into your diet. The reason for this is because it's so important when it comes to blood sugar management. I know that many people eliminate sugar from their diet and then notice that they lose weight but this could be break down of muscle tissue by excess cortisol production. Fruits are our friends and not our enemies. We need to be consuming more of these yummy healthy foods. If you actually look at most people diets they do not consume enough fruits. Most people's diets in North America are full of grains, foods rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids and other garbage. When you get people on foods like grass fed meats, organic fruits
raw honey and organic vegetables. These are the foods that are going to bring health to our culture. You are what you eat and if you eat foods that come from unhealthy animals and unhealthy growing practices then you're not going to be healthy. We think that if were told by conventional medicine about something then it most be correct but the truth is nothing is hundred percent certain. We need to do our own research and come up with our own conclusions. I don't want you to read this and come to me and say that you believe exactly what I say. I want you to make your own conclusions with the research that you read. I want people to think for themselves do what works for them. I think that people incorporated more fruits into their diet they would see the benefits of that. I think fruits are delicious especially if they are organic and I can never not eat them. It's not just about the health benefits. It's also about the taste. Foods are really delicious.
In conclusion, I hope I outlined enough reasons why you should be consuming fruits in your diet. Start incorporating more fruits into your diet alongside some good quality sources of protein and watch your health dramatically improve.
