Hi all..
I've done an adrenal function urine test (measuring sodium chloride in the urine) twice now and both times i'm at the very upper level of HYPER. Less than 0.29% SoCl.
I really don't get it - i feel completely, in every way exhausted, and have a plethora of classic fatigue symptoms - except i'm not putting on weight.
Sweating like crazy, dizzy, foggy head, inability to cope with anything or anyone. Stimulation of life makes me feel 'hyper'...anxious, panicked, on edge etc. I could sleep forever.
What else could cause such a urine reading? I know aldosterone keeps sodium chloride in check, so maybe levels of Aldosterone are super high? What causes that?
Frequent urination day and night is another symptom.
Anyone help me understand this reading? I'm new to learning about AF.

This is a reply to # 2,009,092I also had very high levels of sodium/potassium levels, but mine were measured on my hair test. However, my aldosterone levels were low and my cortisol test also was very low.
Your test results mean that your body is under intense stress, which makes the adrenals release more sodium into your body. Your sympathetic nervous system is dominant which is where that panicky feeling comes from. Basically your body is stuck in fight or flight, and completely exhausted from it.

MoreThis is a reply to # 2,009,402Hey Faith110, yes, i've been aware of being sympathetic doiminant for years (only recently did i realise the thyroid can cause this)- it was only a few months ago i realised the effect it was having on my adrenals...i completely crashed, in all ways!
I'm awaiting hair analysis results...and thyroid blood panel too so shall be able to hopefully gauge some understanding from the results.
Just to clarify...my urine was extremely LOW in sodium chloride - which represents hyper adrenals. High sodium chloride levels in urine indicates HYPO adrenal.
I suspect my thyroid is implicated in this weird imbalance i'm going through - can't wait for results back but i *feel* HYPERthyroid and (perhaps now have switched to) HYPOadrenal.
I used to jump out of bed eager to get my day started - now i even hate the feeling of waking up and trying to muster the energy to 'make the day happen' - it's so weird. Very not me.
