I had the mirena put in june 15 2011 6 weeks after i had my son. I never checked the strings i would et this sharp pain before my period sometimes after sometimes in the middle but i just ignored it oct 23 i finally went to my dr for my pap smear she said she could not find it i never got my strings cut. i got an xray done they said the could see part of it but they dont know where it is and know i have to o the 26 of nov for an ultrasound I am planning on getting it taken out my period never gota lighter it got longer instead of 5 days it goes 7 to 12 days somethimes during intercourse it hurts and will make me spot i never hap that when i was on the pill. I just hope it has not go to far up that i have to get surgery i have 3 kids and a husband that doesnt help and wants to be waited on hand and foot and i wont have time to recurperate
