Someone once said that life is a race between education and catastrophe. That statement could not be more true when it comes to educating ourselves about water and its relationship to our health.
A vast array of pharmaceuticals-including Antibiotics , anti-convultants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones-have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans, an Associated Press investigation reported recently after a five month-long study.
And that is just the tip of the iceberg.
Despite the small concentrations of pharmaceuticals, and despite water utilities insistence that their water is safe, there is much evidence to the contrary.
The presence of so many prescription drugs and over-the-counter medicines like acetaminophen and ibuprofen that have been flushed down toilets are easily found in much of our drinking water and is heightening worries of long-term health consequences.
Unfortunately, water providers rarely disclose results of pharmaceutical screenings, unless pressed. They claim that the public does not know how to interpret the results and might be unduly alarmed.
Because of information like this, and because of many other abuses of our water system-sewage waste, poisons used in agribusiness, acid rain, industrial and household chemicals just to name a few-I have for many years now gone on record as stating that a good, dependable Water Ionizer has already become a necessity for every family in America.
Even users of bottled water and many of the home filtration systems don't necessarily avoid exposure. Bottlers, some of which simply repackage tap water, do not typically treat or test for all toxins, especially pharmaceuticals, according to the industry's main trade group.
I have been researching water for over two decades. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the contamination of our water supply in the US is a clear and present danger. I have personally tested the water supplies of nearly every major city in the U.S. and there is NO safe water to drink that is clean, pure and alkaline. Even the majority of the bottled waters being sold in the U.S. and around the world are questionable at best.
A National Assessment of Tap Water Quality found 260 contaminants in our nation's tap water; 141of these contaminants have no enforceable safety limits. Of the 141 unregulated contaminants utilities detected in water supplies between 1998 and 2003, 52 are linked to cancer, 41 to reproductive toxicity, 36 to developmental toxicity, and 16 to immune system damage, according to chemical listings in seven standard government and industry toxicity references. Despite the potential health risks, any concentration of these chemicals in tap water is legal, no matter how high.
For more detailed information, I often refer people to a chapter in our book entitled "The pH Miracle For Weight Loss." In Chapter 5 entitled "You Are What You Drink," I present the truth about the present dangers of the world's potable water supply.
http://www.phmiracleliving.com/p-298-the-ph-miracle-for-weight-loss...
Clean drinking water is something that the public has pretty much taken for granted for the past hundred years. The public has little idea-perhaps understandably-just how contaminated our drinking water has become.
Our environment has changed, new biological transformations are emerging, drinking-water systems are aging, and governments often seem more interested in ensuring business in the global marketplace than in ensuring the safety and health of the world citizens.
Health scientists throughout the world are now echoing what I have been saying for two decades. When it comes to your health, whether you are trying to reverse an illness, prevent an illness, or simply create the healthiest body possible, the #1 thing you must do is to change your water.
A good Water Ionizer must alkalize, ionize, purify and structure the molecules of the water. In order to neutralize and reverse the over-acidity of the body, the pH of our water supply is critical.
http://www.phmiracleliving.com/p-463-ph-miracle-mark-i-ionizer.aspx
What most people do not realize is that underlying all disease or most dis-ease is an acidic condition. More and more medical researchers are beginning to focus on the relationship of acidity in cells, tissues, organs, and blood as highly correlated with many bodily symptoms and complicated disease syndromes.
Having studied water for decades, I have become convinced that the pH Miracle organization has created the best water ionization products on the market from several standpoints: water quality, price, system durability, and customer relations. At the pH Miracle Center (www.phmiracleliving.com), one can find the pH Miracle Mark I Water Ionizer in every kitchen and guest house. We provide healthy water for family, guests, employees, farm hands, and visitors.
http://www.phmiracleliving.com/p-463-ph-miracle-mark-i-ionizer.aspx
The average healthy person should drink at least 1 quart of water for ever 50 pounds of body weight each day. A person with a serious health challenge should drink a liter for every 30 pounds. People often laugh when I say "we must pee our way to health," but I don't know how much simpler I can make it.
High pH water such as the water that comes from a good ionIzer neutralizes acids throughout the entire body. Since acids underlie all disease entities, nothing makes more sense than neutralizing these acids.
One of my most often quoted statements goes like this: "When the fish is sick, change the water." We don't feed the fish medicine. We give them clean water. When the cells of our body our sick, we must change the water and fluids in which all cells and tissues are bathed.
When we purchase a good ionizer, we actually save money over time when compared with purchasing water from vendors and stores and treating the water to try and improve its quality. I can't think of any investment that is better for a person or a family than a good water ionizer and especially the best ionizer on the market today has to be The pH Miracle Mark I seven plate ionizer.

This is a clip from a lecture titled Water Shamanism given by Daniel Vitalis in May/09 at Mo:Le Restaurant in Victoria BC. The event was coordinated, filmed and edited by Sarah Maria of Superfood SpeakEasy Promotions ~ http://www.superfoodspeakeasy.com
Physicians rarely promote the curative properties of H2O, but Dr. Batmanghelidj, M.D. has studied water's effect on the human body and has found it to be one of the best pain relievers and preventative therapies in existence. I was one of the last people to interview the late Dr. Batmanghelidj, and I listened in awe as he shared his research and stories about "The Healing Power of Water."
In a fascinating one-hour phone conversation, Dr. B. shares:
• Which common ailments and "diseases" are actually caused by dehydration
• Why many doctors use water-regulating antihistamines to alleviate pain
• How Dr. Batmanghelidj unintentionally discovered water's healing properties
• Why most people are chronically dehydrated and suffer from symptoms of dehydration that are labeled "diseases"
• Which ingredients in soft drinks deplete the body's water reserves
• Why thirst is not a reliable indicator of dehydration
• Why the body produces cholesterol and how water keeps it in balance
• Why Dr. Batmanghelidj believes the public is being mislead about AIDS
• How dehydration impairs mental functioning
• Why some organizations want to withhold alternative health information from the public
• How lack of water causes depression
• Why popular beverages are no substitute for water
• How dehydration causes the vascular system to constrict, leading to hypertension
• How to recognize signs that your body is starting to dehydrate
• Why restaurants push you to drink disease-promoting soft drinks
• Why and how water effectively treats pain and inflammation
For the rest of the story:
The Water Cure : An interview with Dr. Batmanghelidj
Drug companies manufacture a class of chemicals that are strong antihistamines. Histamine is a brain chemical whose action the drug industry is determined to block when there is pain. Most strong pain medications are antihistamines. There are many kinds produced by different companies. One variety is called Tagamet. It is now a non-prescription drug that you can buy off the shelf.
I set out to research why histamine is the target when pain medications are used.
I discovered that histamine is a vital chemical messenger in the brain. Histamine has a most important function not written about in medical textbooks. It is in charge of water intake and drought management in the body. It is less active when the body is fully hydrated, and becomes increasingly active when the body becomes dehydrated. This was the connection I was looking for. In short, histamine produces pain when an area in the body is suffering from drought!
I had to search through numerous scientific journals to collect this information. It took several months to put this information together. I made several copies of a thick scientific volume, and had each volume bound -- in April 1985, 13 years ago! A copy was sent to each of the professors who were present at the meeting in Professor Spiro’s office.
I presented at various conferences the discovery that the human body produces pain and develops various diseases when it is suffering from drought. One such conference was the 3rd Interscience World Conference on Inflammation, held in Monte Carlo in 1989.
Deception and Human Suffering!
Here is the story that should dispel any myths about drug companies being on the side of consumers! In the autumn of 1988 I was invited to speak at the Gastroenterology Society meeting held at the Armed Forces Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia -- a hospital and a country that lack nothing money can buy. I was introduced to the local representative of a major drug company that manufactures one of these special pain medications. He did not know me or the topic of my presentation.
He was curious. Here I was in Saudi Arabia, from America, addressing a medical gathering.
He asked me, "Do you use our product?" I answered, "No, I do not."
He asked, "Are you using the product of our competitor?" I said, "No, I do not use the product of your competitor either."
With much surprise he asked, "Then, what do you use to treat your patients?" I told him, "I use water."
In amazement, he said, "What, water alone?"
"Yes," I said, "Water alone."
Then I asked him the two questions that had bothered me for some time.
"As a researcher into the effect of histamine functions on the body physiology, your company must be aware of the primary role of histamine in water regulation and drought management of the body. Firstly, why do you insist that its actions should be blocked? And, secondly, why do you not explain this water-regulatory role of histamine in the body to the clinicians who are being asked to block its action by the use of your product?"
What do you think was his answer?
In an irritated tone of voice, he replied, "We are not here to educate the doctors. They should discover that for themselves! We are a manufacturing company interested in selling a product!" Exactly what I expected!
Fortunately, I am now able to reveal what drug companies have been for years concealing from the doctors and their patients. This new knowledge will make the practice of medicine much simpler -- and friendlier to you, your health, and your financial resources. What is more, medical jargon will no longer get in your way of understanding your own body and its ways of talking to you.
And, of course, the profession of medicine will once again become an honorable calling and not just a way to get rich quickly.

Is This Popular Sports Drink as Damaging as Coca-Cola?
But the main selling points of Vitaminwater and its competitors, such as SoBe Life Water and Propel, are the added vitamins and electrolytes. But is it worth it? ; Probably not. ; According to the Washington Post: "... only people 'dedicated' to exercising need to replenish [electrolytes] ... and then it's necessary only if they work out vigorously for more than an hour. ; Tap water has the added benefits of being all but free, and free of calories. Critics have bashed Vitaminwater for being a calorie trap ... a bottle contains 2.5 servings, so you could easily drink 125 calories -- just 15 ounces shy of the calories in a can of Coca-Cola -- at once." And as for the vitamins?; Vitaminwater focuses on B vitamins and Vitamin C, which are water-soluble and not stored in your body. ; Once you go beyond what you need, you urinate it out.
Sources:
Vitaminwater has made a name for itself among the trendy new functional beverage lines, and with the help of popular celebrity spokespeople like Ellen DeGeneres sold 142 million cases last year. At first glance, Vitaminwater sounds like nothing more than flavored water with added vitamins and minerals … even a seasoned health veteran may be fooled into believing that this is a good idea … vitamins, water, a great combination. But when you start investigating the list of ingredients in Vitaminwater and similar beverages, the more you'll realize you're doing your body a great disservice by falling for the healthy illusion they've created. It's very fitting that Coca-Cola owns the Vitaminwater brand, as this beverage is closer to soda than it is to water. And as you may remember, Coca-Cola was actually sued last year in a class-action lawsuit that contended the Vitaminwater line was being illegally promoted as a healthy product. So let's take a look at what you're really drinking if you drink Vitaminwater What's Really in Vitaminwater? Fructose!
Oh yes, here we have it again. Big surprise, the number one source of calories in the US and the primary cause of the obesity epidemic is being used to sell this product.
"Vitaminwater is Coke's attempt to dress up soda in a physician's white coat. Underneath, it's still Sugar water, albeit Sugar water that costs about ten bucks a gallon," said litigation director Steve Gardner of the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI).
Vitaminwater Also Contains Erythritol: What is It?
Actually I disagree with the "sugar water" part as pure cane Sugar water is an order of magnitude healthier than free-floating fructose. When you drink Vitaminwater, what you really get is 33 grams -- more than six teaspoons -- of sugar, including crystalline fructose.
I recently began warning about this new variety of fructose, which may be even worse for your health than high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). I recently exposed agave as being worse than HFCS but crystalline fructose is much worse than agave.
While many people mistakenly believe that fructose is an acceptable form of sweetener, it is far from healthy. Refined man-made fructose metabolizes to triglycerides and adipose tissue, not blood glucose. One major downside of this is that fructose does not stimulate your insulin secretion, nor enhance leptin production.
Together, insulin and leptin act as key signals in regulating how much food you eat, and several studies have linked dietary fructose to increased food intake and weight gain.
Additionally, fructose is also known to significantly raise your triglycerides, which puts you at an increased risk of heart disease.
Based on the latest research, crystalline fructose is definitely something you'll want to avoid as much as possible. Whereas regular HFCS contains 55 percent fructose and 45 percent glucose, crystalline fructose is at minimum 99 percent fructose, which could only mean that all the health problems associated with fructose may be even more pronounced with this product.
If anyone tries to tell you "sugar is sugar," they are way behind the times. There are major differences in how your body processes each one.
The bottom line is: fructose leads to increased belly fat, insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome -- not to mention the long list of chronic diseases that directly result. As a standard recommendation, I strongly advise keeping your TOTAL fructose consumption below 25 grams per day … and this leaves no room for Vitaminwater in your diet.
And if that's not bad enough, crystalline fructose may also contain arsenic, lead, chloride and heavy metals.
Vitaminwater Also Contains Erythritol: What is It?
Erythritol is a sugar alcohol, a type of sweetener that provides fewer calories than sugar. But despite the name, sugar alcohols are neither sugar nor alcohol. It is actually not that bad of a sweetener, far safer than artificial sweeteners, fructose and most of the other sugar alcohols, except xylitol. They vary in sweetness from about half as sweet as sugar to equally as sweet. They're frequently combined with other low-calorie or artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, acesulfame-K, neotame, saccharin, or as in the case of Vitaminwater, crystalline fructose. The reason sugar alcohols provide fewer calories than sugar is because they are not completely absorbed in your body. However, this fact has certain drawbacks, none of which are good. High intakes of foods containing sugar alcohols can lead to adverse physical symptoms like abdominal gas and diarrhea. Some polyols are clearly worse than others. Sorbitol or mannitol-containing foods, for example, are so potent they must display a warning on their label stating "excess consumption may have a laxative effect." Erythritol may actually offer an explanation to the many reports of ill after-effects from drinking Vitaminwater, such as: If you gain nothing else from this article, let it serve as a reminder as to the importance of reading labels. As the saying goes, you can't judge a book by its cover … and you can't judge a food product by its cover either. If you are opting to buy any processed food, make sure to flip it over and read the ingredients for yourself, regardless of how "healthy" it appears to be. In today's 24-7 world, people are looking for quick ways to maximize their nutrient intake. This is why Vitaminwater and its cronies are occupying ever-expanding sections of supermarket shelves. But let me tell you once again, when it comes to nutrition, there are no shortcuts. You may be fooled by Vitaminwater's chic logo and health promises … but your body won't be. Proper nutrition really begins with identifying your Nutritional Type, and then following the program, focusing on eating unprocessed, organic and locally grown foods. About the best "shortcut" I could recommend if you're looking to increase your nutrient intake, fast, would be to invest in a high-quality vegetable juicer and start juicing your own veggies. But no matter how you cut it, if you want to get all of the great health benefits that Vitaminwater promises -- reduced risk of chronic disease, more energy, a healthier immune system and so on -- you simply have to start paying attention to what you're eating. For extra reassurance, a multivitamin can be beneficial, but not in the synthetic forms used in most energy drinks, flavored beverages and vitamin pills on the market. Your body needs nutrients in a natural whole food form, and this is the only type I recommend taking. If you've been drinking Vitaminwater to recharge after a workout, I recommend saving your money. Less than 1 percent of those who use sports drinks actually benefit from them, as anything less than 45 minutes will not result in a large enough fluid loss to justify using a high-sugar drink like Vitaminwater. And even if you're exercising for more than an hour, there are far better options to rehydrate yourself, such as fresh coconut water, which is one of the highest sources of electrolytes known to man. For most average exercisers and athletes out there, Vitaminwater is a complete waste of your money. Your best bet for your primary fluid replacement -- while exercising or otherwise -- remains pure, fresh water.

(HealthNewsDigest.com) - Yes, water is a nutrient just like carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals. And if I were to list the top 5 healthy things we could do for ourselves, drinking more water would make the list! While most of us know that water is important, I have found that too many of us acknowledge that we need to drink more. But like all the other healthy habits, drinking more water takes practice, and summer is a great time to start.
Aside from being a vital nutrient, some studies have found that those of us who drink more water, may also eat less. One study found that water drinkers ate almost 200 calories a day less than non- water drinkers. 200 calories doesn't sound like much? Well, over the course of just one year, if we saved 200 calories per day without doing anything else differently, it could amount to a 20- pound weight loss! The study also found that water consumers drank fewer soft drinks (we know this can save calories), and in general followed healthier eating patterns. I'd like to suggest that we increase our water intake by sipping it in-between our summer drinks. This may not only slow down our alcohol intake, but we may feel better the next day too. Okay, aside from saving calories, water is so vital to our body that we can go longer without food than without water.
Do we need more convincing?
Water in our blood forms the plasma that carries all vital nutrients to every cell in our body and it also carries the toxins and wastes for excretion.
Water in our urine and feces carry these waste products out of our body. One major reason for constipation is dehydration.
Water in our sweat releases heat through our skin, helping to maintain internal body temperature.
Water plays a role in the transmission of our nervous system’s electrical impulses.
Water helps to dissolve and digest nutrients.
Water is involved in the production and release of energy in our body.
Water in fluids surrounds our joints providing lubrication and mobility.
Now that we can see how important water is to our body, here are a few more practical things to consider
Lack of water is a common cause of physical fatigue especially during exercise.
Every time we drink alcohol we to increase our water need.
Shivering raises our metabolic needs, and water is needed to store the fuel that supplies the energy to shiver (we do shiver in air conditioning)!
Drinking more water after a high fat meal can help decrease the blood’s viscosity (thickness) up to several hours after the meal (anyone read the study about a higher incidence of heart attacks after a high fat meal?).
So, now that we know that water is one of the most important nutrients in our body, and our body uses it for every biological function, how about we start practicing drinking more little by little now. I keep a small water bottle with me at all times which seems to help, even when I’m at home. Who knows if we all try, it might become a habit.
Bottoms up!

Water, a Nutrient!
Ecologist Shares on Well Water
and the Steps to Cleaner Water
(NaturalNews) This interview is an excerpt from Kevin Gianni's Renegade Water Secrets, which can be found at (http://www.renegadewatersecrets.com) . In this excerpt, Jim McMahon shares on well water and steps to cleaner water.
Renegade Water Secrets with Jim McMahon, ecologist and founder of Sweetwater LLC.
Kevin: Now, we haven't talked about well water and a lot of people who I talk to about water, and I don't know as much as you do, but I tell them some of these things and they say, "Well, I'm on well water and that's okay." So why don't you talk a little bit about some of the things that you can find in well water and how you can protect from those.
Jim: Well water is a reflection of the land around the well. So well water can be terrific or it can be horrible. The Midwest of this country is known as the lymphoma belt because of the application of herbicides. Pretty soon, a couple of months from now, we're going to see those farmers out in the fields and they're going to be spraying, spraying, spraying. Then it's going to rain. That water's going to go down into the ground and it's going to carry all those herbicides and pesticides into those wells.
So it all depends and then I've got people in the Rocky Mountains. People test their well water and there's arsenic, there's lead, there's fluoride and guess what. How did we settle the Rocky Mountains? Miners came out here for minerals. So whatever is going on in the landscape around you is going to be reflected in the water. Remember, water's a universal solvent. It's going to be dissolving the soils or the rock that are around you.
Now, a lot of well water is really wonderful. A lot of well water is not. Taste is not a good indicator. You really should get a thorough test. I sell a test called, The Water Check. It tests for 75 parameters for $137 and you can add herbicides and pesticides to that for another $30. Get a good profile of your well and then you know how to treat it.
Kevin: Right.
Jim: The other thing that happens is people might have a well and so they'll buy a water softener. They say, "I have a well, so I need a water softener". Until you test that water, you have no way of knowing whether you need anything or not. It's no different than the guy who goes into the store and buys one of these little pitcher filters and figures they're covered. You need to test your water and then put in the treatments that deal with the contaminants that you find.
Kevin: With the well water, should you be testing it once every five years, ten years or something like that?
Jim: It really isn't a time thing. People like to come up with time and so maybe five years, but really, I would look for changes in the watershed. You have an agricultural community that suddenly becomes suburban.
Kevin: Okay.
Jim: That's a common transition. While you may move from one set of problems to another, from herbicides to leaking septics with nitrate, or lawns are a very common source of herbicides, because like Chemlawn, who even thought of naming that company that, Chemlawn. They come in and spray, so you have this green lawn with nothing but bluegrass. Those chemicals are getting washed down into your well.
So I would look for changes in the landscape. New developments can affect your water. Is there a new industry around? Anything going on that might affect the water table.
Kevin: I remember you told me once about a family who had really high levels of uranium.
Jim: Yeah. I shouldn't laugh. I never heard back from that guy, but his family had discovered this after many years of not testing their well and people had been dying in the family. The family had grown up with this well and they'd been dropping like flies and nobody knew why and then finally they tested the well and it had very high levels of uranium.
Kevin: Wow.
Jim: Then this guy needed... and sometimes I'll tell people and of course, they don't take me seriously, but I'll tell people to move.
Kevin: Really?
Jim: There's certain things that you can't fix.
Kevin: Right, because that's not only in the water, but it's causing reactions with everything else.
Jim: Yeah. Radon is another. There are certain things and I've got a library on my website at ((www.cleanairpurewater.com/resource_libr...) . I just have links to all these articles about different contaminants. One of them is a study by a group of scientists about the things that you shouldn't get any of.
Kevin: Oh, cool.
Jim: One of them is radon. I remember when radon came out, everybody was reacting. Here's the EPA telling us one more time we can't breathe radon. Where's this coming from? Well, radon can be in water as well as your basement. If it's in your basement it may very well be in your water and just inhaling small bits of radon can be very dangerous.
Kevin: Yeah and in the northeast I think something that's very prevalent.
Jim: Yeah and again, it's easy to remove with a good whole house carbon filter, or you can aerate it. Another issue is this hydrogen sulfide, that rotten egg smell. For years people thought that is just an aesthetic concern and I get great customers. I had one guy whose daughters were insisting that he do something, because they would smell like that going to school.
Kevin: Wow.
Jim: Yeah. This guy was like, "I don't smell anything." So he's having this major social impact on their lives, but EPA has recently come out and said that in fact, hydrogen sulfide is not just an aesthetic concern, but is actually dangerous. We learn. As time goes by we learn.
Kevin: It's almost like we learn the things that we knew were bad for us anyway.
Jim: Yeah, intuitively.
Kevin: Right.
Jim: That's right.
Kevin: Say someone right now is listening to this call and they're interested in getting better water. What's the first and second step?
Jim: My opinion is the first thing you do is write down your goals in an unbiased setting. You write down what you want. Do you want healthy water? Do you want water that tastes good? Are you concerned about mineral deposits that are building up on the shower doors? Because when you write down what your goals are that's going to drive your decision making later on.
I never make decisions for my customers. If some guy calls and he says, "Jim, all I care about is my wife is on my case about the marking on the shower doors." Then he needs a water softener. So sit down with the family, or the decision makers who are deciding what it is that you want to accomplish. Then, number two, look at your water report. See what's in the water. Then you can go to my guide or another location and say, "these are the things that I need to get out of the water. Here's the treatment I need", and then go buy that treatment.
Kevin: One thing that I always talk about and something that we did with our water is that we got something that was sufficient with our budget at the time and then we upgraded and I think that's a good approach to take, too, if you are concerned about your water. Would you agree?
Jim: Yeah. A lot of people will buy these expensive filters in the grocery store. I won't name brand names, but they hook on the faucet, or there's a little pitcher. Those might be a good intermediate step. They are not a good long term step. The filters that hook on your faucet, just like a carbon filter without KDF, they've been shown to provide breeding grounds for bacteria. They can colonize and live on the surface. So now, all of a sudden you may be removing some chlorine, but you're actually drinking more in the way of bacteria. If you do that sort of thing, you've got to change them out really regularly and stay on top of it. So again, it seems cheap at first, but to do it right it's not.
Kevin: Here's a question that I wasn't even planning on asking. What about cleaning out the tubes? Is there any time that you need to flush the tubes with chlorine or bleach or something like that to get stuff out if there's organic material building up in the tubes?
Jim: Yeah and what I recommend that's in the manual of the Kitchen Defender is when you want to clean it, do it when you're changing the filters and go to the store and just buy some hydrogen peroxide at the grocery store, 99 cents. Take the canisters off. Fill each one up with a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. So you'll have three canisters full of hydrogen peroxide and then run that to the faucet and you can tell when the faucet is discharging hydrogen peroxide and then turn it off and let it sit for an hour or two and then just empty it out and put your new filters in.
Kevin: Got you.
Jim: That will clean out any organic build up. It does not have the toxic byproducts that bleach does.
Kevin: Right.
Kevin: What about different companies and looking at a company that you know you're going to be able to get a filter in five or ten years?
Jim: You mean longevity?
Kevin: Yes.
Jim: I think there's some validity to that. People still ask me if I'm still going to be in business and I tell them that I've got kids to put through college and I don't hide my manufacturer from anybody, so they can always go there if they couldn't find me. We're in an era where –- this isn't filters, but Starbucks turned around and are closing stores, because people aren't going to pay $3.50 for a cup of coffee. I never would have guessed that six months ago.
Kevin: Right.
Jim: Never ever. Big companies are being acquired all the time. One of the equipment suppliers that I use was acquired by 3M, because 3M is looking at water. There's going to be a lot of consolidation in the water business I think. Companies may come and go. Technologies are going to change. So maybe I think you'll be able to get filters for your system. You could probably find something locally. It won't be as good as what you could get from me, because I use a unique set.
Kevin: Right.
Jim: The other thing, if you start dealing with me, in three years I may be saying "Kevin, I'm thinking about ozone, or hydroxyl radicals. I've got this thing that if we add this onto your system I think we're going to get a better level of protection..." and so we're going to watch the water business, watch our knowledge, watch the technologies and see what develops. So it's not stagnant. It's ever changing.
Kevin: I personally think it's nice to have someone hold my hand, because the amount of research, there are other people out there too, but 30 years of environmental research, come on. I don't have that and I'm researching everything else in terms of health and so it's very valuable to go to a person and say "this is what my water looks like, what do you think, what are your recommendations?" And then decide if it's a fit or not.

Ecologist Shares on Well Water and the Steps to Cleaner Water
Where has all the water gone?
You can forget about oil.
Water is the world’s most precious commodity—and it’s getting harder to find.
In 1992 the United Nations designated March 22, World Water Day, to emphasize the ever increasing scarcity of safe water.
Good water is synonymous with good health—and worldwide for a billion people, it’s nearly impossible to find.
Each year 5 million people die of water related diseases, and every day women and children spend countless hours collecting polluted water from distant sources.
Here in America, our tap water is contaminated with 141 unregulated chemicals, some that are well known neurotoxins.
Water Is Life
While water is the most basic element on earth, it is also the least understood—just ask Dr. Emoto.
This much we know for certain:
70% of our overall body weight is water
80% of the composition of the brain is water
CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) the clear, colorless liquid of life we bathe our brains in daily is 99% water!
From a neuroanatomical perspective, having the brain and spinal cord suspended in watery medium makes good sense by buffering the brain from a sudden blow to the head.
As an added bonus, the net weight of the brain is reduced from 1400 to 50 grams, increasing buoyancy and reducing pressure at the base of the brain.
It’s the neurophysiology however that makes it much more interesting.
CSF Is What We Bathe Our Brains In Daily
Just as spring water flows spontaneously from a deep granite aquifer, a vascular structure found deep within the ventricles of the brain produces the 150 ml of CSF needed each day to both transport helpful hormones and remove potential toxins from the brain.
But what if the source water is contaminated?
What if the water we drink daily is unsafe and we spend a lifetime consuming it—what then?
While the blood-brain barrier provides a measure of protection, it is NOT impenetrable.
Neurotoxins make their way to our brains daily, with little resistance.
When was the last time you enjoyed microwavable popcorn or had pizza delivered to your home?
Blood levels of perfluorinated chemicals (a known neurotoxicant) found in Teflon products, Stain-Resistant carpet, the inside lining of microwavable popcorn bags and yes even pizza box liners, are on the rise. There is also ample evidence identifying lead, methylmercury, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) as neurotoxic agents. The “Great” Lakes are not so great anymore.
In a recent French study conducted over 8 years, high aluminum levels in drinking water were associated with an elevated risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). This result was highly significant despite the low number of subjects exposed to such levels.
In contrast, high silica levels found in the same source water, were associated with a lower risk of dementia and AD.
What To Do?
Only one percent of the water on earth is fresh water. We continue to contaminate that one percent at an alarming rate.
For your brain’s sake, find a reliable source of safe water.
Keep your exposure to other environmental toxins to a minimum.
Remember, in the world of neurotoxicology, exposure times a lifetime equals Parkinson’s disease or Alzheimer’s or any one of numerous other neurodegenerative disorders.

(NewsTarget) Mineral and herbal baths have been used for thousands of years to relieve everything from sore muscles and joints to Arthritis and much more.
Today, millions of people continue to flock to bath sites and facilities throughout the world. However, one need not travel any further than their bathroom
to enjoy a healing and relaxing bath. All it takes is a hot bath and a few healthy ingredients.
The salt and mineral rich Dead Sea is one of the world's earliest spas. The Roman king of Judea, Herod the Great, and Egypt's Queen Cleopatra both enjoyed
the healthy benefits of the Dead Sea. Multiple studies have shown that the sea's mineral essentials are effective for psoriasis, acne, and rheumatism.
Nearly every city in the ancient Roman Empire had at least one bath, which served as centers for bathing and socializing. The hot springs in Baden-Baden,
Germany, were well known to the Romans, and its waters bring relief for rheumatism, gout, paralysis, neuralgia, and skin diseases. Britain's Queen Victoria
was an annual visitor during her reign.
Other civilizations which have long embraced healing baths include China, India and Native America. Archaeologists in India's ancient Indus Valley
Civilization unearthed a large pool-like structure with steps at both ends. In 1541, Spanish explorer Hernando De Soto was the first European to see the
"Valley of the Vapors", which is the area known today as Hot Springs, Arkansas.
The rich and famous regularly traveled by private rail car more than 100 years ago to Mount Clemens, Michigan, "America's Bath City". It offered luxury
resort hotels with heated baths, which were widely known to relieve Arthritis and rheumatism pain, as well as skin problems such as eczema. Thousands of
polio patients were also drawn to the waters. Legend had it that people came to the city in wheelchairs and left walking under their own power. Among
regular visitors to Mount Clemens baths were Henry Ford, William Randolph Hearst, Mae West, Babe Ruth, and European royalty.
Today, you need not travel to a
resort or even a local spa to enjoy the many benefits of hot mineral and herbal baths. All you need is a bath tub, hot water (generally speaking, the
hotter the water the better so long as the water is not scalding) and healthy minerals, herbs, etc., either singly or in combination. Some of the most
popular ingredients are:
Sea salts, especially ancient Sea Salt s, are loaded with minerals and trace minerals.
Epsom Salt relaxes sore muscles and joints and contains magnesium, an essential mineral most of us are deficient in.
Lavender and other essential oils, such as rose and juniper, fight Depression and relieve tension and stress.
Baking soda helps neutralize chlorine and is good for muscles and skin.
citric acid bonds with minerals and, combined with baking soda, makes the mineral
effervescent.
Witch hazel is antiseptic and good for bruises and skin conditions.
Vinegar is wonderful for the skin and has numerous healing benefits.
Additionally, a number of popular Chinese ingredients are used in healing baths including:
*Water lily pads (stress)
*Oriental wild yam (stress, female problems)
*Du Zhong (knees, joints)
*Osmanthus (stress, depression)
*He Shou Wu (blood, energy, arthritis)
*Flos Lonicerae (blood cooling, heat and toxins removal, skin disease)
*Plantain (skin diseases)
*Radix ginseng (stress)
Tips:
*Keep hydrated and boost your bath
with an iced glass of healthy tea and/or juice at your side.
*Hot baths are very relaxing. If you have a large tub, avoid falling asleep. A spa pillow may provide some insurance.
*Where applicable, use water filters designed to remove chlorine and/or fluoride for the healthiest baths.
