Hi,
Long story short, out of the blue 4 years ago, I had severe anxiety, panic, then severe insomnia, depression, then adrenal fatigue. It's only been the last year or so that I started to get better doing natural stuff.
I've increased my serotonin, dopmaine, gaba levels. That has helped greatly, especially increasing serotonin. But, what about Adrenal Fatigue? I've been doing a co-enzyme b complex, added an extra Pantathine (B5) 330mg, about 2000mg Liposomal Vitamin C, etc.... I'm also taking other minerals including zinc and magnesium because I was tested low. All has been helping.
But, my insomnia is still pretty bad at times. About 3 weeks ago, I added 1000mcg extra 5-MTHF (Methyl-Folate) due to some methylation defects to help NOS and increase BH4. That seemed to help, then I added 400mcg of Chromium to help sustain blood sugars better during the day, that seemed to help, then I added 500mcg of adenosylcobalamin (b12) on top of the methly-B12 I was taking. 5 days after adding the adenosylcobalamin, I started having SEVERE insomnia again. Very WIRED but not stimulated just wide awake. This is what i deal with anyway, but it's even worse now.
I've had problems with chromium helping give me more mental energy and clarity but the insomnia it gave me was SEVERE (this was 2 years ago about). The first week or so of adding 400MCG of Chromium seemed to really help. But, something is now causing severe insomnia. So, I stopped the chromium, and I stopped the adenosylcobalamin. I'm still doing the extra 1000mcg of Methly-Folate for now. I could be over methlyating, although my mood is decent.
Three days ago I started 165mg of Adrenal Glandulars. I thought this might help my adrenals heal faster, and maybe help me sleep. I don't think it's made my insomnia worse, but I feel more stimluated during the day, arm pit sweating more, easier to break out in stress, etc... Is that the adrenal glandulars? I think I also need to avoid them.
If this is the case, being sensitive to adrenal glandulars, does this mean my adrenal fatigue is bad, or that I'm just sensitive, or that they just effect me in a bad way where for some it works?
Anything else anyone is doing to help heal their adrenals that is working? I thought about trying ashwaghanda. Rhodioa made me severely worse a couple of years ago same reaction as Lexapro. I worry that ashwaghanda could mess something up.
I will discontinue the adrenal glandular today. I think it's just too stimulating and it seemed I was doing better without it anyway, I was just stress about the worsening insomnia trying to find a solution. I think the chromium might have been the culprit or the additional adenosylcobalamin and possilby the Methyl-Folate which I will probably test discontinuing again.
I worrry about making my adrenals worse and feeling worse again. So, I want to avoid that at all cost.
