Regarding the second part of your post - any concerns about the technicalities of this website should be adressed to the webmaster in the Webmaster Support forum. The webmaster is extremely unlikely to find your post on THIS forum. Please repost this on his forum if you feel it is important enough for him to see. Thanks.
As to the first part of your post, if you feel you are justified in "calling out apostates", then do so in a manner that reflects your scriptural knowledge as opposed to condescension.
First of all, thank you Refreshed for your petition. I am sure many of us are backing you wholeheartedly in petitioning the Lord for the restoration of this forum. I came to read through the posts last night very late and was apalled at what I found. I confess that I was so tired from a very busy week that I did not have the energy or presence of mind to respond adequately. Today is a new day.
As stated many times, the purpose of this forum is to offer a place where Christians of any background can enter and share their life and faith with others. Sometimes in the process of sharing, it is inevitable that different ideas will be encountered and often debated, and this in and of itself is perfectly acceptable. However, perhaps there are a few things that need to be stated once again, in case I've failed to explain clearly.
Although the forum description does an adequate job of describing the nature of the forum, a few things need to be further defined.
FOUNDATION OF CHRISTIANITY 1A
As Biblical Christians we all believe that:
1) Mankind is lost as a result of sin and eternally separated from God.
2) Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the second person of the Godhead, who came in the flesh to offer His life as a ransom for us.
3) He is the Truth, the Light and the Way, and no one can reach the Father except through Him.
4) To have access to the Father througth Jesus Christ, we must first recognize our sin nature and repent, asking and receiving God's complete forgiveness.
5) As a result of this process, we enter into relationship with God and are called to walk in a manner that reflects the Lordship of Jesus in our lives.
6) The believer is commanded to take the knowledge of Christ and His salvation through Him alone to a chaotic and dying world.
7) Eternal life with God is a free gift and a choice, continual refusal ultimately leads to eternal judgement.
That, as well as I can describe it in brief, are the basic tenets of Christianity, the things over which we can all agree and which constitute the very essence of our faith. This forum exists to house all those who can agree on these basic, foundational principles. The overwhelming majority of evangelical Christian denominations agree on these points.
BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY SUPPORT/DISCUSSION FORUM 1A
There are those who call themselves Christians but who object to the aforementioned, narrow definitions. These folks are welcome to voice their opinions on Curezone and most likely there is an appropritate forum for them somewhere on this website. This forum is not it. The moderator will gladly assist in escorting those posters and their posts to a more fitting forum.
Ideally, the participants in this forum are best served when everyone is present to support other believers with prayers and encouragement. Being that the basic foundations are wide, there should be much that ALL Christians find in common so that they can reach each other with positive, edifying messages.
That being said, we know that in the living out the faith, there are thoudands of different opinions and methodologies. It would be ludicrous and very confusing if there was a forum each for every denomination or branch of Christianity on a website that is primarily geared towards alternative health. Therefore, if everyone were to agree on the foundational givens, there should be no reason why civil discourse of the differences can not be carried out.
FORUM NO - NO'S
For all the reasons mentioned above, and many others which have been frequently mentioned elsewhere, this forum is an ideal place for Christians to come and learn from each other, express their ideas, concerns, zeal, dedication, questions, faith and yes, even doubts! Hence, while there is a wide margin for variations, it is expected that differences be handled in a manner that demonstrates a surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, which ideally all have in common, and discuss even the touchiest subjects in a respectful, kind and courteous manner. While at first this might seem like a very difficult premise, it is wise to remember that even scientists and philosophers can argue their opposing positions in a respectful manner. Christians, by virtue of their being temples of the Holy Spirit, should be able to surpass even the most tempered of the ungodly. When that is clearly not happening, then either man or God is a liar. The Word says to let every man be a liar, but God is always the Truth.
When "discussions" turn into mudslinging, tantrums, manipulation and control, fits of self-righteousness, arrogance, innuendos, accusations, haughtiness and bitterness ad nauseum, then it is patently obvious that no matter how much is said to the contrary, the Holy Spirit is the least in charge. When that happens, then expect remedial action.
ABOUT THE MODERATOR
The moderator of this forum is a Christian, with a solid foundation in the Bible, with life experiences and strong personal beliefs that are put into practice daily and who may or may not agree with much of what is posted on this forum, content wise. Regardless, there are NO personal favorites as far as the running of this forum. The rules apply equally to everyone, and if sometimes there is a delay in carrying out justice, never assume it is because favor has been extended to one over the other. Time constraints and a busy personal life are at fault for any apparent imbalances. When behavior that is generally not allowed in any support forum shows up on this one, action will be taken as soon as posssible. Banning a poster is a difficult and unpleasant task, but there are much greater and consequential reasons why unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. After an initial warning, repeated offenders WILL be banned and no amount of pouting, backbiting, nastiness, begging, threats or manipulation (which the Bible defines as witchcraft) will result in reinstating to the forum. On the other hand, genuine repentance, acknowledgement of wrong doing, a change of heart and mind and evidence of a drastic turn around from the objectional behavior, can have a heart-melting effect on old, crusty moderators, this one included.
Thank you for taking the time to read this very lengthy post which was inserted in the middle of a very honorable and godly request.
Meanwhile, I join you in fervent prayer and desire to see things not return to normal, but reach greater potential in Christ as people gain a greater understanding of the true meaning of 'in Spirit and in Truth'.
And remember, there is a chaotic, suffering world out there waiting for you to demonstrate the only Light there is. Will you be a bearer of that Light, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, or will you choose to hide your light and appear as those in darkness? Your choice....
I know that i am most likely completely alone in this, with the possible exception of one person that posts here, but i do believe it is biblically intrinsic that servants of the Lord are sometimes called to contend against unholiness. I also believe that spiritual warfare which often manifests itself in the natural world is a very real part of the life as a disciple of the Lord Jesus. When the pharisees contended with the Lord Jesus, our Lord contended back. He called them hippocrites, brood of vipers, whitewashed tombs and perhaps best of all, sons of the Devil. Today's christianity would label these as personal attacks and would very likely and with exceeding irony accuse the Lord Jesus, the Christ of being "unchristianlike". The Lord also taught us to "turn the other cheek", but how does all of this work together? The way it works is that we follow Leading of the Holy Spirit who lives in us and we do as led in each specific situation... Just as the Lord Jesus did and this is the example He set for us. This is why even though reading the Bible is wonderful and builds our Spirit, "following the Bible's leading" does not work. Because there are countless instances of handling a situation one way and instances of handling it oppositely contained therein, just as shown with our Lord in the examples above. Black and white rules don't work and this was never the Lord's model for us. And besides, living minute by minute as led by the Holy Spirit can not be replaced by looking up scripture verses before we make every moment by moment decision in our lives, hundreds of times per day.
I strongly believe that there has been a major demonic push in this forum in the past two weeks against holiness, and it doesn't seem that many others have been able to see it (just a couple of people perhaps). It started with doc in her "my opinion" thread who right away refused my invitation to make her war against me private and chose to publicly make a reference to me being a snake "sssssssssun" (confirmed later by her using the actual word snake in the post which got her banned) and accused me of naming myself after an eastern god and it went on from there with 2 major allies jumping in on the side of unholiness. Actual unholy spirits are involved and what they all have in common is that they hate holiness, they hate truth, they hate dying daily to flesh, they hate the Lord Jesus and they hate His disciples, those who have sold all they own to buy the pearl of great price, a path which i, as one of probably millions alive today, have chosen. Matt 13:45 NKJV:
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, 46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
For one thing, these demons hate that the Lord delivers people from them using His surrendered servants as those who would often (but not always) facilitate this deliverance in His name. It so happens i am one of the people the Lord has been using in this way and i very strongly believe it stirred up a lot of demonic activity in this forum, something you have all had the privilege or displeasure of watching as spectators.
All this aside and nevertheless, the biggest remaining issue that i see which involves me is between chette and me... We each are very strong in what we believe and each very strongly believe one another to be false in our teachings and our theologies... and being as diametrically opposed as we are in so many areas, it should come as no surprise that we have such tremendous differences of opinion. A real peace will not likely ever soon exist in this place given the dynamics, but i do have a proposal that might bring the "appearance of peace" which, well i admit would be a nice change. People here have no idea how much i actually prefer this. The proposal is as follows: I don't reply to chette's posts and chette does not reply to mine and nor do we make any negative references to one another or our respective beliefs in other posts. If chette can agree to this, we will have a deal and the appearance of peace has a chance to begin. If doc continues to sneak in and make posts i will continue to ignore them as i have been doing for the past week or so (turning the other cheek as led in this instance, now that war with her is over for me) and continue to pray for her genuine repentance before the Lord Jesus which would hopefully lead to her restoration in this forum and which is what i have been hoping and praying for all along.
I really like your proposal. This is a very good start and hopefully you both will continue to bring messages that will bless others. These boards are read by thousands for many years to come and no doubt someone needs to hear exactly what each of you is saying (provided it is said in a way that edifies the body of Christ, whether exhorting or encouraging). Slander, accusations and bitterness have no place anywhere among believers.
Good move, carry on...
Many blessings to you.
you clearly are not against me but the word of God.
Ed said "following the Bible's leading does not work." Leading here would include TEACHING
Remember I have never advocated being led of the Bible I have advocated being TAUGHT of the Scriptures and the TEACHINGS of the Bible. I also have advocated Yielding (Roms 6) and Being Led(Gal 5) of the spirit of which he has insinuated in almost if not every reply to me on almost if not every thread we have had discourse, that I am not led of the Holy Ghost and do not teach such.
Ed, You continue in your insinuation which boarders on accusation, that I or others do not have a DEEP relationship with Jesus, do not go on our faces when necessary, have not seen God answer Prayer, do not combat flesh and spiritual forces of darkness on a moment by moment basis, do not fast, do not pray are in fact by your opinion are not following the Leading of the Holy Ghost when confronting error with the word of God.
You insinuate and accuse that all we do is quote Bible and are nothing more than and dead religionist who repeat nothing but theological pontifications with no relationship with the true and living God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost.
In short what you want us to do is let you have free reign to mislead and misguide people into a MYSTICAL experience and practice that has not basis or founded in BIBLE or Bible Doctrine for the Body of Christ. But in the doctrines of Men.
NO I will not concede to compromise in my stand on the word of God it is our duty to protect those who are weak and guide them and lead them into truth via the word of God.
"B-I-B-L-E That's the Book for me, I stand alone on the word of God the B-I-B-L-E. BIBLE!"
Nothing Ed has taught is clearly taught in the Bible. IN fact most of Ed's mystical Christianity is based in New Age ( I have been there so I know and have first hand experience) and is nothing more than the repeated teaching of men that started no more than 100 years ago. And only convenient Bible verses are used by you and them to privately interpret Scripture. Some of the mystical Christianity teaching creeping into the church today via some evangelical churches are based on RC teaching and experience of MONKS from the 11th and 13th centuries which was borrowed from Buddhism.
Peter IN 2Peter 1 says that above his greatest experience that being seeing Jesus Transfigured that he in fact would not give it place over the word of God.
2Pe 1: 16 ¶ For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
19 ¶ We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
This set of scriptures all pertains to the word of God being a more sure foundation and better than any experience. Yet Ed would claim that the Bible "does not work" for daily living in Christ through the Spirit. So therefore we must move into the realm of feelings, emotions and experience to prove we are near to God via his spirit.
But what Ed failed to realize is Living in the Spirit and being led of the spirit also means living and being led by that word of God, that the Holy Ghost moved in holy men (BTW not sinless) to speak, and were preserved by God as promised(Ps 12:6, 7) and have been recorded for us in the Holy Bible.
Without the Bible you would not have those words that are profitable for Doctrine, Reproof, Correction and Instruction today. But you advocate we should live without the word of God except to read it with the same disregard as we would a common newspaper because you CLAIM it just "does not work" . That is a lie of the Devil.
No compromise God word shall go forth without compromise.
For all who read this:
Ed, has accused me of not only the things above in the first three paragraphs but also claims I have made inflaming comments and have falsely accused him of which I have not. But the word of God condemns his practice and his words. What he does not like is the Holy Bible to be a basis of Authority for his Life and Practice as a Christian.
How can you have a forum entitled "Christianity Biblical" and there not be the Bible allowed to teach and to encourage? Why is it someone would want us on the forum with that name not to use the Holy Bible, but only allow his experience to teach and encourage using a Bible verse or two occasionally to privately interpreted that Experiences are to be the final authority in a Christians life?
Should we give in to such subtil words as Eve did in the garden?
Eph 1:15 ¶ Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
