just sharing some thoughts.. no specific questions..
29th July was one of the nights for the waxing moon.. this week is another waxing moon stage..
Last 29th July, after walking our dog at about 8pm, I decided to go to the park and do some light exercise and also do the breathing exercise that Nanay taught me. I lied down in one of the bench and had a good view of the waxing moon. As I was gazing over the moon and the tree branches just barely covering the face of the moon, I remembered there is some wormwood beside the bench..
Wormwood/Sweet Annie/Atermisia Vulgaris is not the one used for Absinthe (its the other type of artemisia)…in the Philippines, it is called Damong Maria while in Singapore, locals call it Hia and is used to add to egg omellette.. see here:

When I went to bed, I read a book called “Grandma’s Remedies” by Cherry Chappell. In her book, she mentioned that master herbalists, harvest their herbs at its best “horticultural stage”, which is just before it flowers or during the waxing of the moon. She says that at this time all the essential oils and other medicinal components of the herbs are concentrated on the leaves.
Was it a coincidence that I decided to exercise during a waxing moon and was it a coincidence that I saw wormwood just below that bench? Maybe! Well, all I know is I found good use of the herbs I plucked last night, it went into my green juice this morning (moringa, sweet potato leaves and a green apple).
Today’s moon phase (best time to harvest herbs)
What is a Waxing Moon
It is the phase of the moon cycle, leading to the full moon (when the moon becomes brighter and bigger). Waning is the opposite phase.
For example
Today, 24 August until 30 August 2012 is part of the Waxing Moon Phase.
I would harvest a few more wormwood tonight and make an oil infusion of it..
31 August ==> there will be a blue moon (the second full moon in a month).. would be a great day to fast!
