I'm the last person to recommend going to the dentist, but i have some experience with this. About 5 years ago I lost a filling and just let it go because OP seemed to take care of any infection as food/etc was stuck inside etc plus I didn't want to go for a root canal.
The dentist said it couldn't last more than 2 or 3 weeks at tops. With OP, bentonite, oregano oil etc it lasted over 4 years. But without the filling the shell of the tooth eventually breaks and you're left with fragments to small to attach a crown to. From there it's all downhill until you eventually need to have an extraction - which is what I did. The dentist thought it was a terrible idea, and that I should have an implant (which a
root canal is only one part of). Instead I had the extraction.
It feels just fine, my teeth haven't moved around my mouth as threatened (I knew OP would keep things rooted), and instead of costing appx $3000 it cost $65. Now I KNOW why the dentist thought it was a bad idea.
If only I could have found someone willing to do the crown instead of insisting on the
root canal while there was enough of the tooth left to do it. Would have been the best possible outcome. I wasn't worried about a possible infection in the tooth since I could kill it with
Bentonite if it ever came up.
So word to the wise, don't just ignore your lost filling until your tooth breaks apart. Find a way to get it crowned or at least filled with something NOT containing mercury.
