I would like more info on brushing as I want to get started and need some help. I read somewhere that you should use a different brush for the face, is that true and if so what should be the difference? What are the best brushes to use for both body and face? Also how long should skin brushing take? How effective is it at cleaning the lymph nodes and I Heard to always brush towards the heart is that also true?

This is a reply to # 1,975,212I haven't purchased any yet but the ayurvedic method of body brushing is called Garshana and they use raw silk gloves. You could go to a site that I love http://www.thenewportmassageschool.com/product/garshana-therapy-certification...
I am hoping to take the courses on line. I do a hot oil massage now and it is leading me to ayurveda. In the meantime I do a body brush sometimes using just the regular bath mits or a loofah brush, gently. I'm into tantra a little and so sometimes I even start with a feather because the tickling sensation actually starts to open the folicles (I learned this in NYC whilst taking a back massage course). After the feather I use the gloves to take it further. It's less of a surprise to the body, gradually opening the pores. I follow that with the hot oil and when I can! I will buy a steam tent.
