One way is to take 50 mg of niacin and see if you flush (google flush histamine test). I learned nothing from doing this but others have. Or...

I just had this test done, its cheap and it found I was borderline high histamine. I already feel better by lowering my histamines but I need to go a little longer before I can be definitive.

This is a reply to # 1,971,163I attempted niacin flushing and it gave me a bad case of hives.
I tried again two weeks later and, again, hives, over my legs, arms, and torso, and lasted almost a week.

I say yes that could be high histamine. See my above link for the test (or go with a diff online lab if you like), its pretty cheap and would provide a 2nd opinion of sorts as to your histamine levels.- Re: How to determine histamine level... omo

What causes high histamines?
What are symptoms of high histamines?
How do you treat high histamines?
Also, as the test you suggested is a blood draw, how do I get that done? Would I get it done at a local lab that mails the sample to the company you suggest?

I'm still trying to find this out as well. But as the other person said (sorry, I can't remember your name now, duh, bad memory) apparently the niacin test works pretty well at least with some.
You need to use nicotinic acid in a 50mg dose. You will flush from just one 50mg dose if you have high histamine levels. If you have low histamine levels it will take you 150mg or more to flush.

This is a reply to # 1,971,352I ask because I found this in the py forum. I also have AF. Looking at the symptoms of py, I think I'm going to get tested for it. I'm having my histamine tested today.
