I had a big blood panel on antibodies to foods and things in the environment. The doctor said I am having a reaction to almost everything I put in my mouth. She said this immune response started with an "insult" to my body. The reactions include my con'd symptoms: brain fog, fatigue, and body pain.
Timeline:
1. Mirena 2006-2009--lost in body, severely depresses immune system
2. My ruined immune system become prey to the black mold at work
3. My completely messed up body starts having reactions to everything!
This may be the answer to why I am still not back to normal after going on 3 years. But I am depressed because this would cause a severe change in diet. . .
It is called the IgG test from Genova Diagnostics. It covers food, spices, inhalants, molds, etc. It was $170 and you a long report. . .

That seems quite reasonable. I convinced my doc to test my total IGE, which tells if my body is reacting to "something". And that was high. 250 or so I think. Not as high as my daughter, who is allergic to milk, egg, cats, dogs among other things, her total IGE is about 2000. I haven't gotten around to exploring what my body might be reacting to yet though.
Was it your doctor who was able to order the IGG test for you? What kind of things were you most allergic to? Do you have any luck taking antihistamines like Benadryl?- Re: long recovery, "insult" to body,... Melanderso

This is a reply to # 1,969,832What's weird is I'm not allergic to anything. Nothing showed up on the prick test the allergist did. My blood showed inflammation, but was non specific. This Dr. called them "reactions" (I guess that's the same as sensitivity??). She is an internal medicine dr., but leans toward the alternative. She said there are shots, but I can't take them right now. I'm supposed to rotate the foods I reacted to so I don't eat them more than once every 4 or so days.
The trouble is I showed up having antibodies to EVERYTHING I eat. All dairy. All meats except beef. Every spice. Most fruits and vegetables. Yeast and soy lechtin. Most nuts. Gluten.
I'm supposed to work out a chart and plan meals, but I think it is impossible. I just got back up to a normal weight after being underweight all last year, and I have low blood sugar. If I take away carbs my weight will tank. A piece of bread once every 4th day????
I'm sorry to be so whiny, but the Mirena nightmare seems to spiral on forever. . .

This is a reply to # 1,970,044Hmm, do you have a list of foods you CAN eat? It sounds pretty harsh, but could you try only eating foods you aren't allergic to for a week or two, and see if you notice improvement in your symptoms? Steak every night :) I had to eat just rice and chicken for a few weeks when my baby was born to try to figure out what in my breastmilk was causing her constant diareah. It wasn't fun, but I used rice milk, rice crispies, etc to make the best of it....

Oh, wow. Restrictions during breastfeeding would have been AWFUL. I had to do exclusive pumping because he had cleft, and was attached like a cow to that pump at every meal. If I couldn't have had comfort food, I would have gone insane!
Yes, it says I can have carrots, rice, beef, lima beans. Wheat but no gluten. . .it's funny, I can stand large amounts of physical pain, but I still remember the nausea I had the one time I tried to fiddle with the "fibromyalgia diet."

Sounds like the makings for a casserole/hot dish :)
It's great to hear ladies getting back to 100% after a couple months, over and over and over, but it wears on me and I wonder why I'm not back to normal like everybody else.

This is a reply to # 1,970,632It stands to reason we DO have something in common--even if it's that the Mirena caused a chain reaction in our bodies that keeps our immune systems out of whack. The curezone format does seem more streamlined to me, but I have never gotten used to fb in general. :) I'm very 20th century!
