I'm no expert on
Iodine chelating mercury, but my hair test results have shown what I believe to be significant improvement after supplementing.
I'm a 56yr old female and had my
Amalgam fillings (7) and crowns (2) restored with composite in 2008 by a holistic dentist. I had some major yeast issues immediately following all the dental work and as I understand yeast binds to mercury, so I really stirred up a lot after removal.
I had a hair test analysis done in 2008, 09, 10, by DDI and each time had deranged mineral transport, meeting (2) counting rules the first two tests and (3) counting rules in 2010.
FYI, I did use DMSA for a short period of time in early 2009, but was concerned about using it while I still had some mercury in my gum. Not sure how it got there, possibly the gum surgery that I had done in my 20's. It's in a very hard to reach area between two teeth and I've chosen to live with it and stopped the DMSA.
I did another hair test June of this year (2012) and was quite surprised that I just barely met even one counting rule. I'm getting close to having NO...ZERO deranged mineral transport. Maybe my body can now do what it's supposed to do with all the nutritional supplements and food I get :)
I've been supplementing off and on with
Iodine for over a year, but mostly Iodoral and then only 12-25mgs, until this past Dec (2011) when I got serious about using iodine. I titrated up to 50mg for four to five months after talking to Charles at Hakala where I had my
Iodine test done. In June I jumped to 100mg Iodine and 150mg
SSKI after talking to people on this support group, which have been invaluable. You all are the best!
I have no other explanation for this other than the iodine. I only wish I would have waited to do the hair test after I had been taking the higher doses of iodine for awhile. Maybe then It would have read normal.
