I get muscle cramps from time to time, generally in my legs. Have learned that the best thing for it is simple muscle stretching exercises and I learned that from a physical therapist. Bodies need to move and stretch and exercise and when they don't they rebel in all sorts of ways including cramps and tics. The anxiety part is simple. It's like fear. Unless you are in immediate physical danger it is irrational and all you have to do is to let it go.

Twitching muscles are very common. Every man and woman experiences muscle twitching. Twitching muscles are most often in the legs, but muscle twitching can occur in the facial muscles, neck muscles,
chest muscles and even back muscles.Muscle twitching usually goes unnoticed unless it's excessive, and/or the muscle twitching causes an entire finger or toe to "jump." Also, muscle twitching can often be clearly seen when it happens, especially if the twitching muscle is in the quadriceps muscles, chest muscles or face muscles. Muscle twitching means things are more normal than abnormal.
Anxiety
Anxiety and stress are perhaps the No. 1 cause of muscle twitching, which is also known as benign fasciculation syndrome. Benign means the muscle twitching will not develop into anything serious. Fasciculation is the medical term for muscle twitching. Syndrome means that typically, a lot of muscle twitching is also accompanied by muscle cramps, muscle aches and some tingling. But these other symptoms come on after the person starts excessively worrying that the muscle twitching is a sign of a deadly disease.
Anxiety makes muscles twitch. It's that simple. One theory is that in ancient times, early man had to always be ready for action, living in a harsh environment with no modern-day conveniences to protect him. His muscles, his entire nervous system, had to always be prepared for a fight with danger, or for a flight from danger.

We are genetically hardwired to physiologically react to a crisis situation. Our muscles are on standby to jump into action. But contemporary stress is different from ancient stress. Today, we don't need to be ready for the charging bison or hissing snake. But just the same, our bodies are under siege by other forms of anxiety: job stress, paying bills, foreclosure threats, protecting teens from drugs and sex, marital problems, traffic jams, business meetings, etc. It's no wonder that our muscles are always jumping.
When we are under chronic stress, our muscles twitch because they think that at any moment, action will be required of them. So they are, in a sense, gearing up for the fight or flight, kind of like a track sprinter dragging his foot backward on the track as he prepares for the race. Anxiety tells the muscles, "Get ready. On your mark, get set..."
But the "go" never happens, because the stress is not of a life-threatening nature (such as a charging bison, falling rock or hissing snake of ancient times). So the muscles remain in idle, like a car at a stop light. The engine is on, but the car goes nowhere. The engine, in this case, is the muscle twitching. They are not relaxed. They are anticipating.
So when you notice a lot of muscle twitching while under stress, realize that this means that everything is working just fine.
i have had, muscle twitching, and spasms all over my body for sometime now. and as i learned this is a sign of low magnesium. I had the Genova test done, and it shows my magnesium to be fine. Is it possible that since this is a blood test, my blood was fine, but it had already pulled everything out of my muscles ?
Lab tests are frequently inaccurate. Usually because things fluctuate in the body so much or because they are testing something like blood or saliva that do not test tissue levels of a substance.
Spasms are more often caused by a lack of magnesium since magnesium antagonizes muscle contracting calcium. Although, there is a fairly common condition called hyperparathyroidism that can lead to spasms by increasing serum calcium antagonizing the muscle relaxing effects of magnesium.
Also i am cold with chills all the time. It is 75 outside, but i still need to wear a jacket. anyone know what this is from.
This can be either hypothyroidism or a form of anemia.
Hypothyroidism is frequently missed by lab tests for several reasons. Doing your basal body temperature for a week and seeing if you have other hypothyroid symptoms is a much more accurate way if determining if you have hypothyroidism. Symptoms can include weight gain, fatigue, mental fogginess, constipation, dry hair and skin, cold intolerance, hair falling out, etc.
If it is hypothyroidism do not just jump on taking iodine. As I have told people so many times before if some one simply recommends iodine for hypothyroidism you need to run as fast as you can because the person has no idea what they are talking about! Therefore, increasing iodine intake will not treat all causes of hypothyroidism. More importantly though is that iodine can aggravate a very common form of hypothyroidism known as Hashimoto's thyroidosis:

Even if the problem is from a lack of iodine, iodine supplementation does not always work. Iodine uptake is regulated by cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). If a person is low in cAMP they can take all sorts of iodine and it will not do them any good. Although, they could end up with iodine poisoning.
Low thyroid results in a condition known as Raynaud's phenomena, which leads to the cold feeling. If everything else is ruled out then the other possibility is Raynaud's disease, which is an autoimmune condition.
