I have had erosive Lichens Planus for several years. Lately it has been constant, with sores inside my cheeks, all over my tongue and red, painful cracks on both sides of my mouth. My doctor gave me a steroid mouthwash to deal with the symptoms. Other than the lidocaine in the brew, to alleviate some of the pain, it has done nothing to help me.
I am not a doctor, but an effective researcher. I did extensive research and found the study on Aloe Vera, which seemed to indicate that it cold effective manage the pain and in many cases, send the condition into remission.
I went out and bought 99% Aloe Vera gel, Aloe Vera tablets and Aloe Vera juice. I lather the gel all over my lips, sores, tongue, etc every few hours (it doesn't taste bad) I drink the juice (swishing it around in my mouth), every few hours as well. The change in 24 hours has been amazing. All the sores have calmed down and are receding. The sides of my mouth are healing. I don't know if the tabs are doing all that much, but I continue to take them just in case.
I am not selling anything. The gel is available at health food stores (I get the organic) and at drug stores for under $5. The tabs were about $8 for a bottle and the juice as the most expensive - $17, but I picked the kind that has other detox ingredients. Next time I go for the plain as the one I got has ginger and apple juice and I don't think that helps.
It is inexpensive to try this. It worked for me and I have really been suffering and embarrassed over the red blotches at the corners of my mouth.
Other research said to eliminate foods that might be causing an allergic reaction.
So I stopped drinking coffee, which is difficult for me. I eat very carefully, so coffee has been an emotional comfort.
