I got up today and tried yet again to ingest only things that I will not react to in an effort to help my leaky gut heal, but apparently I've ingested something I'm having a slight reaction to. It's not bad and if I were just feeling a little scratchy throat and some aches I wouldn't really care. The issue, however, is that everything I read indicates I need to omit ALL foods I react to for a time in order for my inflamed digestive tract to heal and I can't seem to find foods that work.
I was trying to do a smoothie fast for a few days to really give my digestive tract a break, but again, something I've eaten (or possibly a vitamin I've ingested) is causing a reaction so I feel like I've failed yet again. I guess it's better to have a small reaction than a big one, but if I'm still preventing my leaky gut from healing, what's the point?
I'm now taking aloe gel, L-glutamine and slippery elm capsules on an empty stomach and then I made a smoothie using mostly ingredients I don't normally use to reduce the chances of reacting to them - cucumber, pear, bok choy, dandelion greens, carrots, lemon juice and organic coconut oil. I've usually been using spinach, avocado, apple or pear, carrots and lemon and a few times have added dandelion greens. I realize the lemon and carrots are repetitive, but I really felt I was safe with them...maybe not.
Can someone suggest something I could try to eat/make a smoothie out of for a few days at least to give my digestive tract a break? I'd like to try to make some bone broth and probably will, but I can't afford to this weekend. But I probably will add gelatin as soon as I get to the store today.
Really -- I'm desperate and so frustrated. This has been going on since last year but the number of items I react to has increased to the point that I can't seem to find anything that's safe. I'd do a liquid fast if I could find something I could choke down that didn't inflame me.
