I no longer put socks on my kids. I let my 10 year old play barefoot outside all the time, even when it's cold. She doesn't stay out long enough to get frostbite & when my grandson used to stay w/ us I let him do the same. Now I have a 9 mth old granddaughter that is pulling up & trying to walk, when she stays w/ us, I never put socks on her. Last night we were out & didn't get home until after dark, while I was parking the car my daughter asked - "may I please take my shoes off & run around the house a few times" - she knew I would say "yes". I have been doing this for a while now thanks to the info I have learned from MH & others. I also let my child sleep w/ her window open & vent closed at night, even in the winter - my husband & I do the same w/ no negative effects. We just sleep much, much better & wake feeling more refreshed. I love getting up in the morning & seeing my breath upon rising. It will make you move quickly - lol. I will say that I have been extremely exhausted at times this winter & forgot to open my window when gpoing to bed & everytime I've done this I wake up in the night feeling like I'm smothering & I get up then & open the windows, close the vents & go back to a more restful sleep. Hope that helps some.
Best Regards,
Kimber
