Hi. Sorry for the length but theres always so many details that I felt could be the most important so I didn't want to leave anything out. I bashed my leg and it has a large bump. The entire leg feels numb and the calf kind of tightens up and aches.
The reason I'm so concerned is this happened 3 weeks ago and I just noticed this huge bump the other day. I have some undiagnosed immune problems and tend to heal slowly so I'm not sure if my body is capable of fixing itself in this instance. It feels rubbery to walk on and aches when resting in different positions and when I walk.
I'm at a loss of what to do. I went to emergency two days ago which I know is almost always a useless/bad idea but I didn't know what else to do. They shot me up with like 6 x-rays just to look at it. Of course that really shows them nothing they explained to me after that so they don't know what to be concerned of. I pushed them to try to maybe, drain it ? and they said they don't normally drain cysts or growths, because of the risk of infection. Anyways, the doctor agreed to drain some fluid from it for analysis. When it was initially drained the bump/bloodvessle/growth almost instantly began to deflate. Something I want to mention is I had a strange sensation as he was sucking blood from the syringe. I could feel a sense of relief in other areas surrounding my knee.. It was as if the blood was being sucked from the back side of my knee and other surrounding parts and it seemed to feel, relieving. Anyways it was just odd.
Another thing to note was that the fluid was a red/blood color and he explained that if this was some kind of a cyst or whatever, that the fluid would most likely be a different color and more clear. so that felt a little reassuring, but only a day or two after this useless hospital visit I notice the bump has fully returned and my leg pain is worse or the same.
I'm really freaked out!! I don't know if I have an infection that is causing my entire leg to cramp up or that this bump is a crazy tumor or some blood vessle that is going to lead me to leg amputation. The bump itself remains painless, the main pain I feel is radiated down the back side of my calf. There is no visible red swelling or spider like veins or anything scary like that showing... just a big fat bump on my knee and cramping aching calf and leg muscles. My entire left leg just feels a little, numb. I was just reading some about tendonitis and some of those descriptions seemed to match what I'm experiencing, but I really don't know what to do.
What would you recommend I could try to do to prevent a possible growing infection in my knee and also trying to help speed the healing process? I'm trying to rest it alot but I'm not sure what I should really be doing. Even resting it in certain bent positions or fully extended positions feels like it may be bad for it. Should I have ice packs on it all day? Should I make sure I keep it propped up? Do these things really matter? I asked doctors things like this and they never seem to have an answer.
I would think that trying to treat this with
Antibiotics could be a good idea (but I know that
Antibiotics are bad for a variety of reasons too), so I was wondering about natural
Antibiotics ? I know
Colloidal Silver is supposed to be rather powerful and was considering giving that a try but I just wouldn't know where to start with the dosages. Especially since I have such a wide range of problems, and I've read that the amount necessary for the *magic bullet* type effect depends entirely on the individual and their specific concern/concerns.
But there are other antibiotics I know too like even something as simple as garlic is supposed to help against infection isnt it? I took a multivitamin and alot of vitamin C in the past few days. I feel like if there was just some kind of way to allow the muscle to relax that would probably help. What about natural anti-inflammatorys? Or muscle relaxants? I'm not sure what those would consist of. but bleh, these are just shots in the dark.
Thanks for reading, any suggestions or help is appreciated. I'm really worried I could lose my leg given my poor state of overall health and don't know what another hospital attempt will really get me especially since they care nothing for enhancing the body's healing mechanisms. (outside of potentially dangerous antibiotics)
