Well we got a killer frost last night and another one tonight. Most of the trees had almost all there leaves and today they are falling off, the frost killed them. So NOW what we gonna have a summer and fall with leafless trees? Will they come back, it has been nice having 4o plus degree above normal temps, but... now everything, tress, flowers, bushes have all been hit with frost, killing them, ????????- Re: weather MH 108

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,927,860all, repeat all, fruit trees created by man, such as apples, peaches, pears, cherries, etc. in our area have bloomed weeks ago and we have received killer frost several times since and already in the 30's at 10 pm and calling for freezing tonight, so most likely all fruit in ohio is permantly dead for 2012.
humans are created to live where it never gets colder than 60 degrees, so when we live where we do not belong, we should expect such troubles in life.

strawberry farmers told me if a freeze hits the strawberries the strawberries that survive the freeze are the sweetest strawberries of all

This is a common occurance here in the sunny south. Our spring is here too early as likely as not. It kills our fruit; we have apples, peaches and pears in my area IF the frost doesn't get it. The leaves on the trees come back, just a little bit late and sometimes we get 2 pollinations.

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,927,907thanks PC, I have never seen the leaves so full this early and then get frosted and fall off. I had this terrible vision of the trees being bare all summer! :( Hope everybody's fruit trees produce a super abundance of fruit this year!!!
